Charleigh recently took her guitar exam and passed with a distinction. It was lovely to hear that this was announced as a surprise on the open mic night she is part of each month. Charleigh is also a regular singer on the open mic nights with her brother (and occasionally other members of the family too!). A true star in the making.
Well done Charleigh
Her is a video clip of Charleigh completing part of her music exam, she also completes lessons weekly in school with our guitar teacher John Guest. Lessons will resume for all students after Easter – look out for further information or ask your crew leader if you’re interested in learning how to play the guitar!
A HUGE SHOUT OUT TO RONNIE AND CHARLEY
During February these girls have taken part in a daily running challenge with their family to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer research.
The challenge was 28 miles throughout Feb.
As a family they have completed 438 miles and raised £1241! Wow!
The Buck children raised £149 on their own just on loom band orders alone!
Above is a breakdown of the challenge and some pictures of Chaz and Ron!
They have done really well! They finished their challenge with an 8mile bike ride ton Sunday – we are extremely proud of them both!!!
Superstars!
Here is a sneak peek of our Masked Reader!
Coming 4th March …
A big thank you to our very own Fossil expert Brendan for bringing in his special collection of fossils and minerals. It really helped us yesterday when we sketched our own fossils. Brendan has lots of interesting facts that he shared with us that helped the rest of the class to add extra detail to their sketches!
Thank you for making our Expedition lesson special Brendan!
Throughout March, as a school we are planning to walk from John o Groats to Lands end and back! That’s 1,748 miles!
If my calculations are correct as a school we only need to do 110,505 steps a day! Easy!
So charge up your fit bits and smart watches and get your walking shoes ready!
At the end of the week complete the google form that I have attached to this blog and we will record your steps. There will be weekly prizes in school for most steps in a week and all school staff will be getting involved too.
Good luck and I hope you enjoy the challenge

Yesterday in Expedition, the children were challenged to research and create slides on fossils. Everyone collaborated brilliantly creating some superb slides and Google Docs!
Shout out to Lyle, Oliver, Alexsis, Lexi and Paige for their extremely detailed and professional slides.

Yesterday, as part of Case Study 2, we investigated how different shapes of beaks have adapted to pick up a range of different items. We had lots of fun trying to collect the ‘food’ in 30 seconds to see which beak was the most successful.

Over the last few days, we have been working on our vocabulary choices using an interesting range of adjectives and adverbs. Yesterday, we practised labelling images with a variety of description and today, the children had a go at editing and improving a setting description.
A big shout out to Levi, Freya and Kaleb for their awesome setting descriptions using a fantastic range of vocabulary!
