On Friday, we explored using chalk pastels to create different effects. The children were very creative at coming up with their own ideas; Dexter made a fab lion and Evan a Lochness Monster! I loved the heart images created by Lola, Courtney, Bryona and Kianna. Well done everyone for working hard.

Well done to these children in Y5/6 who have shown great attitudes to school by working hard, being kind and getting smart! Keep it up!

Year 5 Maths – Angles
Over the next two weeks, we will be learning all about angles. We need to be able to label different angles, order and compare them and be able to measure them using a protractor. We are also learning how to draw different angles. After all that, we will be looking at how to work out missing angles on a straight line and around a point.
Click here to practise measuring angles online.

Red Nose Day – Friday 17th March

To celebrate Comic Relief this year, we are inviting you to come to school dressed in red with a suggested donation of £1.

This years merchandise includes many different Mr Men and Little Miss characters.
As part of Red Nose Day we are launching our very own Design a T-shirt Competition!
If you want to take part, all you need to do is design your very own Red Nose Day t-shirt and bring it with you on Friday 17th March.
Get creative and design it in any way you want! You might want to draw a picture, paint it or even create a t-shirt you can wear on the day.
Each crew will vote for their winning design to be entered into a whole school competition. Have you got what it takes to be our winning design? Good Luck! We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
YOUNG VOICES 2023!
On the Friday we broke up for half term, I had the privilege of taking some of our KS2 Choir to Young Voices at the Utilita Arena, Sheffield. It was lovely to see lots of new friendships being built and children supporting and encouraging each other. A HUGE shoutout for the superb behaviour too which was shown by the children, they represented our school brilliantly.
Thank you to all of the adults that supported the event either buying tickets, coming along to watch the show or collecting children from school afterwards it is greatly appreciated!
Myself, Mrs Faulding, Mrs Cook, Miss Nolan and Miss Kelly even enjoyed singing along and learning the dance moves too – we were all very proud and already looking forward to next year!
Well done everyone! x

Class 15 – Roots of Empathy 👩🏼🍼

This afternoon, we’ve been lucky enough to have a visit from Baby Chad and Miss Smith. We’ve all enjoyed finding out about his development and asked lots of questions! I think Baby Chad has made some special friends this afternoon too and enjoyed playing and interacting with the children.
A shout out to Clio, Theo and Jacob for playing ‘Peek-a-boo’ with Baby Chad and making him smile! We’re already counting down to seeing him again soon!
World Book Day
Green Top will be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 2nd March and this will be a dress up event.
We can’t wait to see which book character you decide to be but please don’t feel that you have to buy a costume – we love seeing the homemade ones!
