Christmas Competition!

Tomorrow, members of the school council will be going around school selling entries for our two Christmas competitions: ‘Guess the name of the elf’ and ‘Guess the number of candy canes.’ Entries cost 50p each and the winner will win either an elf teddy or the box of candy canes.

We will also be selling packets of ‘Reindeer Food’ for 50p each. Please send any money in tomorrow and throughout the week if you are wanting to enter the competition. Winners will be announced on Friday morning. Thank you.

More Magic Maths!

Today it was Jake who delivered our Magic Maths! He did an incredible job of supporting his peers and ensuring that all of his crew knew what they were doing and understood the skills involved! He moved around the groups constantly checking in with everyone and supported them with their Bodmas knowledge in arithmetic!

Another superstar in the making!

I am so incredibly proud of the children in Crew Knowles – well done!

Magic Maths

Yesterday, Lexi delivered Magic Maths to the rest of her crew whilst I worked with a group and she did an absolutely awesome job! She worked her way through counting, times tables, place value and arithmetic whilst providing support and models for her peers!

Well done Lexi – you’re a star!

Save the Children: Christmas Jumper Day

On Friday 10th December, we will be having a Christmas jumper day to raise money for the ‘Save the Children’ charity. Children are encouraged to come to school wearing a Christmas jumper or t-shirt and bring a donation of £1. Thank you for your support, we can’t wait to see your Christmas outfits!

Learning Council

Meet the members of Green Top’s 2021-2022 Learning Council!

They are all doing a wonderful job so far and have taken part in Maths Week, interviewing and showing visitors around school! I can’t wait to see what is in store for us next!

Community Crew

This week in Crew Knowles we have continued the theme of anti bullying from last week. We have looked at ways to protect ourselves from bullying as well as ways in which we can protect ourselves on the internet. I was really impressed with how mature and articulate the children were when discussing their thoughts and ideas.

High Speed Rail – First draft!

Today Crew Knowles did their first draft of the Azuma train which will feature on our upcoming product! I was really impressed with their observation skills to draw the train accurately and in proportion. They drew the train using the skill of perspective and really used their knowledge of horizon lines and vanishing points.

The children then anonymously critiqued each others pictures so that we could continue to improve our first draft. Well done guys!

Peer Critique

Crew Knowles have done an awesome job editing and improving their writing today ready for their final touchdowns. They have worked so hard to include all of the features of a formal piece of writing and I can’t wait to read the final version!
