Class 7 continued learning about Hindu stories and how the River Ganges was like a mother, as it helped the world grow through care and nourishment, with the help of Shiva. We created posters to show how the earth cares for us!

Today, Class 7 have continued working on their pop art and created some beautiful work that will go towards our final product!

Class 7 began their pop art work! They worked hard and concentrated well on being able to cut out shapes accurately, print their dots and created beautiful pop art style patterns in their writing.

Firework crafts underway here in Nursery. Lots of wonderful conversations about colour, sparkles, dark and light and onomatopoeia words such as ‘bang, pop, fix, shoot’. The children have also been looking like scientists and sketching like artists when creating observational drawings of the pumpkins.

Today we have enjoyed listening to songs and dancing with scarves and imagining we are shooting up to the sky like fireworks! I think you can tell from the children’s faces how much they enjoyed this gross motor and expressive arts activity. Some children chose to also play instruments to make ‘bang’ sounds just like a firework.

This week we are talking about fire safety and enjoying dressing up, role playing fire fighters and painting bonfires. We have been learning about Guy Fawkes and the British celebration of Bonfire Night and the meaning behind it.

Next Tuesday (11.11.25), Year 2 will be hosting a family learning event linked to creative writing. We hope that you can attend this date, which will begin at 1.30pm. Please come through the main entrance and we can take you to your class.
We look forward to seeing you 🙂

Dear all Parents & Carers,
A reminder to all that you MUST apply via the Doncaster Council Website (see below) for your child’s school Reception place. Children in Nursery DO NOT automatically receive a place in Reception if they already attend Green Top Nursery.
