Crew Knowles – Hook Week

Yesterday the children watched The Lorax too hook them into their learning on rainforests and deforestation. Today, they enjoyed drawing some colourful truffula trees as well as The Lorax himself! Class 6 Hook Week day 1

We were all very excited today to settle into our new year 1 routine and took part in phonics, expedition and maths lessons. During expedition we learned the title of our new expedition – Not all heroes wear capes, and discussed our guiding question – How will I be a hero in my community? We completed our Blast Off quiz to see what we already know and planned placards, which we will make this week, with slogans showing how we can improve our local area.

We also began to use our wonderful White Rose Maths booklets and worked in groups to sort objects in different ways.

Congratulations to Elizabeth and Isaac who won our postcards today.

See you tomorrow Superstars!
