class 12- hooking into physics

The children took very well to the challenge of getting the light bulb to light up with no real direction from me just the equipment they were given. Once completed they were able to share that more batteries would result in a brighter bulb and two bulbs to one battery would produce a dimmer glow.

Class 9 | Electrical Circuits

This week, the children have been getting to grips with electrical circuits. We have been looking at how a circuit needs to be complete in order for electricity to flow around it as well as replacing different components to investigate the effect that it has on the brightness of the lamps.

Class 9 | Home Learning

Last weekend, Arnie went to the local library, picked out a book on the human body and went home and read it. Arnie also designed a poster on good and bad things for teeth which he brought in to show the rest of the class.

Reception Reading books*Please read*

Reading book google form

I know that many parents are aware that we are changing how we are supporting children with their reading, moving forward. Please read the attached letter and complete the google form above.

As soon as a parent has signed the google form to say that they agree, your child will come home with their set of reading books, which will be changed on a Friday from now on.

In the meantime, please don’t worry that you don’t have school books over the weekend because any books that you read will count towards your school reading challenge.

Thank you for your support with this change

Year 2- Fruit Kebabs

Wow wow wow! What a fantastic start to Year 2s XP Outdoors. This afternoon we made fruit kebabs, learning all about different types of fruit and why they are important. We had apples, bananas, grapes, strawberries, melon and watermelon.

Hands washed and down to business, selecting their fruits and carefully chopping them into small pieces. With all the fruit prepped time for sliding them onto skewers, experimenting with different combinations, discussing which fruits paired best together. Last but very important enjoying eating our fabulous creations.

Crew Spetch – The Eye

Yesterday, we enjoyed learning all about the different parts of the eye and how they work! It was fascinating finding out how they all work together to enable us to see. Today, we sketched a scientific diagram of the eye and used water colours to add detail! Look how great they look!

Class 8’s hook week

What a fantastic first week back!

Not only was it amazing to see the children back all looking so happy this week but doing their SLCs has been an absolute pleasure. Thank you to everyone who has attended.

Here is a brief summary of some of the activities we have done this week to help us with our new expedition this term: Ready, steady, grow: How can I be the healthiest version of me?

Class 9 | Hook Week – The Human Body

The Human Body

We have been looking at some of the different organs that are inside our bodies. We began by drawing an outline of ourselves and then cut out different coloured shapes to make the different organs.

The Digestive System

In groups, we used playdough to recreate the organs that form part of the digestive system.
