Year 2 will be spreading more cheer in the community this afternoon and will be visiting local care homes and taking them gifts that they have made. If you would like your child to opt out of this, please do let their class teacher know. Thank you!
Today we continued to answer our guiding question – How does what I do impact others? – by gathering discarded materials on our playground and sorting them into categories ready for recycling. We learned about the 3 R’s – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – and discussed ways we could put this into practise to improve our environment. We played a memory game in crew, used number fans to answer maths calculations, recapped more phonic sounds, continued with our guided reading activity, danced, played and sang songs. Take a look at the slideshow below to get an idea of just how hard we have worked today. As promised there are also photographs from yesterday’s XP Outdoors session too.
If we carry on as we have begun I have a feeling this is going to be an amazing year!
In addition to this a huge well done to Nevaeh, Henry and Grace, who were proud to receive today’s postcards for their Work Hard, Get Smart and Be Kind attitudes.
This afternoon, the children were lucky enough to have Mr Kershaw teach them how to make a catapult! It wasn’t an easy task but the children gave it their best efforts.
Today we have been exploring our guiding question ‘How does what I do impact others?’ Today we did a litter pick around school and we sorted materials that could be recycled. We also played a fun memory game in our crew session and practised our phonics skills. The children have been awesome again today. I think it is going to be a fantastic year!
Class 8 have been working hard to set a fantastic example for their local community today. They were role models walking sensibly through Thorne and were reminding everyone about using the bins. They were extremely careful and used the equipment brilliantly. I am so proud of them today! Well done my superheroes!
We’ve had another lovely day in our class today! We have started to work on our collaborative artwork where we are each doing a piece to contribute to one large crew sign and I was so proud of everyone’s efforts. We also enjoyed an afternoon with Mr Kershaw making catapults!
Another exciting and busy day in Reception! Today we focussed on Crew and working together as a Crew to strengthen our relationships but most of all we had fun!
As part of today’s crew task, Crew Ambler have written a letter to themselves about what they would like to achieve by the end of Y6. They will then open their letters at the end of Y6 to see if they achieved what they wanted to. Great work Crew Ambler I was very impressed with your hard work today!
