Class 8 fantastic writing

Class 8 have written their final drafts today and I was blown away with their editing skills. The pride that they are beginning to have in their work has improved massively already and I am so proud of all of them. Their vocabulary choices are fantastic and I am so impressed with their editing skills. Well done class 8!

An ‘arresting’ experience for class 6

We had another first-hand taste of the life of a local superhero today with a visit from the police. We were told how many people it takes to process a crime and had a good look around a police vehicle. We even got to try out the ‘blues and twos’ (lights and sirens). Our fantastically interesting visit ended with a demonstration of a search drone, that uses thermal imaging to search and find criminals or lost people.

Thanks so much for coming!

Class 9 and the silent Roman discussion

Class 9 used some pictures of the Roman Empire to practise using question marks. We looked at the pictures and got our thinking caps on, what did we want to know about these images? We used the silent discussion protocol to ask questions to find out more about what we could see and what went on in Roman times!

Year 2 police visit

Key stage 1 have enjoyed their police visit today. They brought a police car and a police van for the children to look at and go in, as well as a police drone. This has not only inspired the children about their learning of local heroes but also given them huge aspirations for future jobs. I hope they tell you all about it tonight!
