Acrylic Poppies

I am incredibly proud of all of the Year 4 children today. They worked collaboratively to create a canvas per class filled with individual poppies in remembrance of those who died in the war. The children used acrylic inks to create their masterpieces.

Well done to you all! I’m blown away by the high standard of art work you have created.

The paintings will be displayed in the St Nicolas Parish Church for the week running up to Remembrance Sunday before returning to school to be displayed somewhere for all to see!

Creating Abstract Art

The children had a great morning exploring the works of Roger Hilton and the techniques he used to create his paintings.

We used charcoal to sketch the large shapes we saw around the school grounds then brought them back inside and applied a mix of water and PVA to add tone and texture to our sketches.

The children mastered this technique and I am incredibly proud of them all! I can’t wait for next Tuesday!

Lincoln Castle

What an amazing day! We all had so much fun and learnt some incredible facts about the history of Lincoln Castle today with the Year Two children.

The children were a credit to their school, their parents and themselves.

Thank you all for a wonderful day.

The Blitz!

The children in Class 12 worked brilliantly this afternoon working collaboratively to find facts anoit the Blitz. The children used chromebooks and non-fiction books to help them.

I wonder if you can share a fact you now know about the Blitz with your family at home?

Well done to everyone for your hard work today in all lessons. I have thoroughly loved teaching you all.

Jack and the Beanstalk

What an amazing performance of Jack and the Beanstalk from the KS1 children this morning for our celebration of our Theme learning. The children worked really hard and performed beautifully, we were so proud of how well they did! A huge thank you to all the parents/carers not only for providing costumes and helping your children learn their lines but for being a great audience. Well done KS1!

Sherwood Forest 🌳

We had a brilliant day yesterday at Sherwood Forest. The children hunted for mini-beasts, seachered for a hedgehog’s breakfast and made habitats for woodland creatures.
