Class 10 – Day 4!

Well, we’ve ended the week really well in Class 10 and I am really pleased with how well we are starting to adapt to our new classroom norms! I know that we will continue to get better and better as the weeks and year progresses. We started the day off by voting for our new Crew Councillor, Learning Councillor and also our Digital Leader. We had so many people want to have a role it was great to see!

Then, we continued to build our Crew further. We had to get across the classroom without “slipping” off of the rocks and onto the carpet. We had great fun and lots of encouragement was on show again!

After break, we went on a scavenger hunt looking for a variety of things in the playground, like feathers, flying insects and a varying flowers around the school and playground. We loved working together to find these items!

Finally, we concluded the day by painting our rocks as an end to our final product about what Crew meant to us. We have some really lovely designs!

I really hope Class 10 have enjoyed this week as much as I have! Have a lovely weekend and come back ready for hook week! 😆

Class 10 – Day 3!

What a busy day it was again!

We learned what synonyms are and if that wasn’t enough, we also learned how to use a thesaurus. I was blown away by how quickly Class 10 were able to get to grips with a tricky skill. Class 10 also worked on more Crew building skills of moving cups without using hands! This was confusing at first, but its fair to say we smashed it! We then continued our rock product as the day carried on!

Class 10 – Day 2!

What a great second day that Class 10 have had!

Yesterday, we started the day off by writing a little fact file about us. We learned new facts about each other such as birthdays, siblings and favourite movies! It was so nice to see everyone thinking of facts about themselves and, as their new teacher, was a great way to learn more about them!

Then, we completed some more Crew building activities. We had to pass a hula hoop around without breaking the chain (stopping holding hands) and was able to do this in small groups as well as the entire 27 of us! What impressed us most was our kind words of encouragement and it was genuinely heartwarming. Miss Smith said how impressed she was!

For the rest of the day, we worked on a variety of designs for our rock product. We put into practise the ideas that we learned, like making them bright and standing out.

YEAR 3 need cereal boxes!!

Shoutout to Year 3- could you all please bring in a cereal box (maybe 2 if you have a spare?). Next week we are getting crafty in our hook week, but we will need some empty cereal boxes. If you have one please send it with the children as soon as possible, they will be being used on Wednesday!

Thank you! Miss Good, Mrs Pearson and Mr Gerrard.

Class 10s first day in Year 3! 😆

What a fantastic first day back Class 10 have had. I am absolutely blown away by their attitude, hard work and kindness. Have you really had 5 weeks off?

We started today by having XP Outdoors with Mr Kershaw and Class 9. We had to build dens after there was a devastating storm that had sunk our ship. As a Crew, we had to make sure we worked together to collect materials and build dens that we could survive it!

After this, Class 10 were introduced to their first week back, mini-guiding question. We are looking into ‘what does Crew mean to me?’ Using think, pair, share, Class 10 were able to have some interesting discussions about how Crew helps them and others. There were so many fantastic ideas that were discussed! We found out that we would be spreading the message of kindness by painting kind messages onto rocks.

After lunch, we then continued our day by looking for rocks on the school field that could be used for our positivity rocks. We found loads and hope that we can inspire the wider community to complete their own, once ours are completed!

Class 11 flood research! 🌊

As we ended the week, Class 11 have been researching what can cause a flood. We have also looked into how humans can cause flooding, the physical impact to the earth that this can have and then how we can prevent them in the future. I can’t praise Class 11 enough for how well they collaborated with each other. It was another lovely lesson that we have had this week!
