Nursery – We can count!

The children have been working hard to represent numbers to 10 in different ways. The children have been working hard to practise their counting skills with objects.

I wonder… Can you practise counting objects at home? E.g 10 cars, 10 leaves, 10 sticks… take a photo and send it in to [email protected]

Nursery – Dogger by Shirley Hughes

The nursery children enjoyed reading the story Dogger. Some children chose to draw the main character and talk about why he was special in the story. Other children chose to reenact the toy stall scene in the book using the role play toys.

Awesome work Nursery Crew! It is wonderful to see you linking the stories we have read to your play.

Nursery – Week 5

Last week the children enjoyed reading our expedition story ‘Dogger’ by Shirley Hughes. The children used play dough to create the main character ‘Dogger’, we practised our cutting/ scissor skills, mark made in shaving foam (this was a really fun way to write!) and we sang nursery rhymes and played parachute games. What a fun week we had!

Year 2 – Martin Lamb Castle Talk!

Today, Year 2 had a special expert visitor Martin Lamb. Martin spoke to Year 2 about castles and how they were made. He even brought in bricks to let us ‘destroy’ William the Conqueror’s castle. Amongst the ‘destruction’, we learnt many new facts. These included the fact that round castles were harder to siege. We even learned about new weapons such as catapults. All in all, it is fair to say Year 2 loved their expert visitor.

EYFS FOOD SAFETY

Food safety advice for children age 5 and under – When sending your child with a packed lunch, please cut small round foods, like grapes, strawberries and cherry tomatoes, lengthways and into quarters. Cut large fruits like melon, and hard fruit or vegetables like raw apple and carrot into slices instead of small chunks.

Many thanks for your support.
