The children have enjoyed listening to the story of The Rainbow Fish this week which inspired us to create our own rainbow fish using blue play dough, glitter and sequins to represent his glimmering scales. The children have been talking about how we can be a kind friend and have practised sharing just like the Rainbow Fish did at the end of the story.
Our new bug hotel in Nursery!
The children worked so hard yesterday to collect grass, leaves, sticks and wood to build our new bug hotel.
The children had so much fun exploring the nursery garden to find mini beasts to be our new residents. We found worms, wood lice, ladybirds and worms.
Diverse Doncaster – Where do I belong? KS1 extended study menu and parents overview.
Today we began our learning for our new expedition. Please find below links to the overview of what we will be learning in the summer term and extended study menu’s for Y1 and Y2. There is no obligation to complete all of the homework, but past experience has shown that studying themes at home linked to our expedition has helped the children to consolidate the learning they have done in class. Plus they LOVE sharing their new knowledge with you. Don’t forget to send the work into school or email photographs so we can celebrate their achievements.

Items needed in Nursery for a bug hotel…
Next week, the nursery children are going to be building a bug hotel. We would love it if you would be able to bring in any pieces if wood, sticks, leaves, branches and wooden pallets so we can build a wonderful bug hotel.
Many thanks for your support.

Playground Leader Reminder (KS2)
Just a reminder about the option to apply for a playground leader role!
To help make break times even better we are asking for the children to volunteer to be a playground leader (in KS2). This will include a vote.
If this role is something that you are interested in, create a poster that shows:
- Why you would be a great playground leader?
- How can you help adults at break time?
- What ideas you have for playtime games?
- What character traits you will show with this
- Are you confident to lead other children?
If you wanted to do a bit of Easter homework (no pressure) then you can create the poster, as mentioned above.
The deadline for this (sent to class teachers) will be Wednesday 17th April.
