As part of our geography learning Mrs Hardman planned an awesome lesson on locating rivers! We even had chance to learn more about where rivers come from! Watch our video to see our learning in action.
As part of our expedition ‘how can we help the world we live in?’ we have focused on deforestation and the importance of trees. We had an expert visit us in school to teach us how trees adapt to their environment and we had a look around our grounds at some of the different trees. We were shocked how different all of the trees were and the different ways they had adapted to their surroundings!
As part of our geography case study we have looked at locating and labelling places in the UK using our research skills. We then progressed our learning to locating rivers within the UK and around the world!

Crew Knowles have joined in the ‘Big Climate Fightback’ by sending an email to the government to help demand action! We need millions of trees to fight climate change and after learning about deforestation, this is a subject close to our heart!
Why don’t you join the action and add your voice to the campaign too?

As part of our reading lesson last week, we looked at Amazon Tribes. We learned about different tribes and how they are in danger because of deforestation. The reading activity was around the room and we really worked hard to read the text closely in order to retrieve information. Lots of the questions were vocabulary related so we really had to get smart by reading around the key words and trying to figure out the meaning!
I just want to do a HUGE shout out for Lily and Olivia in Year 6 who have completed these beautiful collages! The fact that they are currently accessing their learning from home hasn’t stopped them from working hard and getting smart! As a result they have produced some gorgeous art work! Well done girls!
