Is your child using the latest version of Timetables Rockstars?

I have been notified by TTRS (Maths Circle) that many children are using out-of-date versions of the game which may not have the new functionalities.

It’s important that they use the latest versions of the app and and website to ensure they receive the most secure, feature-rich and enjoyable experience of Times Tables Rock Stars. Some of the versions are so far behind that they’re missing out on key updates.

Solution:

If using the website at home, please ask parents to visit play.ttrockstars.com/reset to load the latest version in their device’s browser. Otherwise please to update the Times Tables Rock Stars app from the app store.

Thanks,

Mr Mumby

Year 4: Multiplication Tables Check (MTC)

Year 4 parents, please find information regarding the MTC which the children will sit in June.

We are working really hard on times tables in school and will continue to do so throughout the year in the run up to the MTC.

You can help at home by encouraging your child to use their TTRockstars account regularly. Jamming and Soundcheck modes are particularly useful.

Y3/4 Celebration of Learning

Year 3/4 will celebrate their expedition ‘Ancient Innovators: What did the Romans do for Doncaster?’ on Thursday 7th December between 2pm and 3pm.

We would like to invite Y3/4 parents to a coffee afternoon in the hall where you can drop in between the times of 2pm and 3pm to sit with your child and look through all of their learning on the Romans! We will also launch our website all about the Romans which the children have been working hard on for their expedition product!

More details will follow but we look forward to celebrating our learning with you soon!

Crew Knowles: Awesome Heidi!

Heidi fetched her two well-deserved trophies to share with her crew last week! One for her fantastic dancing and the other for her football! Wow, well done Heidi! Keep up the amazing work outside of school!

Crew Knowles: Odd Sock Day!

We had lots of odd socks yesterday in support of Anti-Bullying Week! We talked about the importance of kindness and celebrating everyone’s differences. We also listened to a lovely story read by the Learning Council all about being the kind kid!

Here are just some of our odd socks!

Lest We Forget…

Our children have spent the week leading up to Armistice day learning about the reason we wear the red poppy and have produced these stunning examples to display in our corridors.

A beautiful and fitting tribute to the fallen.

Thorne Christmas Light Switch On!

KS2 Choir will be taking part in Thorne’s Christmas Light Switch on and performing Christmas songs again this year.

If you would like to take part but don’t come to choir, don’t worry.. you can still come along and sing with us.

The light switch on will take place on Friday 1st December – stage times will be updated soon!

Below are links to some of the songs we will be singing so you can practise at home too!

Crew Knowles: Fronted Adverbials

We’ve been learning all about fronted adverbials in our English lessons and have focused on time, place and manner adverbials. We’re really starting to get the hang of them and identify whether the adverbial is telling us where, when or how something happened!
