Phonics at Home
Here are some interactive phonics games and fun songs for you to use at home to consolidate the work done by the children in class. Most of the children in Y1 are just beginning phase 4 phonics but practising any of the previous phases would be beneficial to aid fluency. If you have any questions or if any of the links don’t work, please let us know.

Year 3 Family Learning- 10th October
Parents and carers of Year 3 are warmly welcome to join us for Family Learning on Thursday 10th October. The session will start at 1:30pm in your child’s classroom (please access school through the school office). To tie in with our second case study, we will be experimenting with digital artwork using iPads. We look forward to seeing you there!

Green Top’s Reading Week!
Next week, WC 30th September, we are celebrating reading week in school! As part of this week, we are continuing to raise money for our new library area.
Throughout the week there will be a book sale where all books will be 50p per book.
We are also bringing back ‘crack the code’ where you can try and enter the safe to win prizes! This will also be 50p per go! Last year we had lots of winners who managed to crack the safe! Will you be as lucky?
On Thursday 3rd October, our Crew Councillors will be holding a reading drop in session in the hall 3.15 – 4.15pm which we would love for you to attend! Please join us to enjoy reading and find out more about reading at our school!

Reception Phonics Family Learning
We are looking forward to seeing you tomorrow for a Phonics Family Learning style session. This session will explain what our phonics sessions look like, the vocabulary used and what you can do to support your child. You are welcome to join us 2-3pm! Please arrive at the school office to sign in from 2pm

Y1: Phonics Drop-In
We just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the families who joined us for our phonics drop-in tonight. It was so lovely to speak to you all about the children’s learning and the progress we are seeing in school. We hope it was both beneficial and fun for you all!
As always if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us – we are here to help!
We are also excited to be hearing about all the progress you are seeing in your own children’s learning at home. Please do share these proud moments with us via email as we love to hear when the children are making your proud at home!

Crew Spetch Shout out – Collection4clothes
A huge well done and thank you to Lara and her family for bringing in lots of donations for our recycling collection. You’ve made a great start to filling up the bin. Our Crew Councillor Letti also helped to organise the donations. Well done girls!

Y1: Phonics Drop-In
Tonight is our Y1 Phonics drop in. Please come to the school hall after collecting your child if you would like to take part. We will have lots of phonics games, reading books etc for you to share with your child. Miss Schon and Miss Rodgers will be attending to help you with any questions or concerns you have regarding your child’s phonics learning.
