Year 5 – Treasure Hunt

This morning, we went outside to complete a treasure hunt looking at information, maps and images that all link to our Summer Expedition.
We used these to write down a list of things we would like to find out more about during our first case study!
We already can’t wait to find out more about what life was like as a miner!

Reminder: Easter Bingo on Tuesday

Check out some of the fabulous prizes that will be on offer at Easter bingo on Tuesday night!

There are still some tickets available; if you are interested then Year 6 will be round in crew to sell the tickets or alternatively pop and see Mrs Jackson at 3pm on either Monday or Tuesday after school.

On Tuesday the doors will open at 5:30pm with eyes down at 6pm.

The bingo cards for each game will be on sale on the night and there will be 6 different coloured games during the evening with lots of Easter chocolate themed prizes. Bingo cards will be sold in booklets of 6 coloured strips for £5. Each coloured strip consists of 6 bingo cards. You can choose whether you want to buy a booklet each or buy a booklet and split it between your family. If you prefer you can buy 6 individual coloured game cards for £1.

Refreshments will be on sale before and in between games. It is cash only so it would be much appreciated if you could bring change on the night to make it easier when purchasing bingo strips and refreshments.

We will also have a raffle, ‘Guess the Easter Bunny’s Birthday’ and ‘Guess the name of the dragon’ available for you to try your luck on too.

Year 3 and 4 Family Learning dates

We are excited to invite families of our Year 3 and Year 4 pupils to take part in our upcoming Family Learning Sessions, which will take place during the first week back after the break!

These sessions are a fantastic opportunity for parents and carers to get involved your child’s new Expedition. This term, the activity will include an outdoor element, so we recommend wearing comfortable footwear as you’ll be moving around the school grounds.

Session Dates:

  • Year 3: Wednesday 16th April, 1:30 – 3:00pm
  • Year 4: Thursday 17th April, 1:30 – 3:00pm

We’re really looking forward to welcoming you into school. It’s sure to be a great afternoon of exploration, learning and fun!

Class 8: Islamic tessellations

On our faith day today, the children learnt about Islamic patterns and tessellations. We looked at 2d shapes that were used and we used the ipads to create our own repeating patterns and tessellations. We really enjoyed working in pairs to change the size of shapes, move them and alter the colour. We definitely worked on our perseverance skills today. What a fabulous day! Well done class 8 x
