Comic Relief – RED NOSE DAY! – 15th March!

To celebrate Comic Relief this year, we are inviting you to come to school dressed in red or wearing something funny with a suggested donation of £1.

This years merchandise includes Wallace and Gromit – Have you ever seen any of these films? Maybe you could watch an episode at home and come and share it with your crew?

As part of Red Nose Day we are also going to hold a Bun Sale. Buns will be sold at 50p each. We would greatly appreciate bun donations as part of this. Bun’s can be handed to Crew leaders or myself before the date.

We will be holding a Comic Relief QUIZ that you could take part in at home – More information will follow! All entries will be added to a prize draw and exciting prizes per year group will be available!

If you’re doing anything at home to support Comic Relief – we would love to see it! Please send in any photographs so we can share and make others smile!

Reminder- EYFS Celebration of Learning

We are excited to invite EYFS parents and carers to our Celebration of Learning from our current expedition ‘Once upon a time’ where the children will share their learning about ‘Who is hiding in the pages of the book?’ This will be on Wednesday 13th March at 1.30pm.

We will be performing songs and rhymes, showcasing beautiful work, sharing our ‘For the love of reading’ boards and presenting each child with their final product. Each child will receive a traditional tale with a QR code of their learning inside. We will be presenting these to other children and special guests from Thorne and Moorends. You will then be invited to take part in some of our learning experiences in the classrooms.

Nursery – Please arrive at the nursery entrance on Ash Tree Road for 1.30 pm.

Reception – Please arrive at the school entrance on Ash Tree Road for 1.30 pm and make your way into the hall.

We hope you can join us

Class 10 magnets! 🧲

What a great lesson from Class 10, today! We experimented with magnets and put on our scientific hats with the hope of finding out what materials were magnetic and which weren’t. We accurately predicted that the items made of metal (paper clips, coins and table legs) would attract the magnet, but items that were not made of metal (rulers, paper and rubbers) would not attract them.

However, some did try to trick me into thinking that plastic was magnetic!

Keep up the great scientific work, Class 10! 🙂
