Well done everyone for wearing your odd socks today as part of anti bullying week!
Letter Join Login Details
Following our wonderful parents/carers phonics session today, and in preparation for our lesson tomorrow, I am re-posting this blog with instructions on how to access and log in to Letter Join. In addition to this I have added a list of links to phonics game websites and links to other useful activities to support the children’s learning…
Here are the login details for you to access this wonderful letter formation app that is available online or from the ‘Other Apps’ section of the Green Top website. To access either log in at www.letterjoin.co.uk from a web browser or click the icon below in the top right hand corner of the Green Top website and scroll down to the Letter-Join app.
On the home screen, choose either the ‘Desktop’ or ‘Tablet’ option depending on which you are using and enter the log in details from the screenshot below. Once you are logged in, choose ‘Year 1’ and off you go! You can watch the letters being formed and then have a go at forming them yourself. This does work on a laptop but is much more effective using the touchscreen on a tablet or IPad. Anyone who sends in a photograph of them using the letter formation activities will earn 20 HoWL points!
Any questions please ask.
Enjoy!

Crew Jackson – odd socks day!
As part of Anti Bullying Week, many of us wore odd socks today. This is to show it’s okay to be different and to raise the awareness of bullying! Thank you Crew Jackson for supporting this cause – here you can see some of us that joined in today.
Year 2 Spellings!
Please try to practise these at home with your children. Mr Gerrard’s and Mrs Shaw’s groups have been working on these all week. Thanks 🙂
Odd socks day in Nursery!
Today we are showing awareness of ‘anti bullying’ by wearing odd socks. We have also done the paper experiment where we said unkind things to a piece of paper. Every time a mean word was said I scrumpled the paper until it was finally in a ball.
We then apologised to the paper for our unkind words and with each ‘I’m sorry’ the paper was unfolded but the creases still remained. The paper was never the same as it was before.
This showed the children that we must always choose our words carefully and be kind. We can say sorry for our actions but they are not always forgotten and leave a lasting trace.
Faith Day 2 in Class 6
On Friday the children in class 6 spent the morning learning about Hinduism. We watched a video that told the traditional tale of Rama and Sita and then painted Rangoli patterns which are considered to be lucky in the Hindu faith. We also learned a traditional greeting…
Namaste from Class 6!
Reception remembers
Today the children in reception showed great respect as they circled up to honour a 2 minutes silence for our heroes of today and of days gone by. The children shared their understanding of remembrance day and took part in crafts, poppy counting and this inspired some to create their own artwork
Class 7 battering rams
Today, Class 7 have had a try at making their own battering rams, as part of DT. First we designed, then we made!
Class 7 remembers!
Class 7 made wreaths to remember and respect Remembrance Day. We observed a beautiful 2 minutes silence as well!
Poppy art and poetry in Nursery
The children created poppy art today for Remembrance Day using paint, sponges, cardboard, leaves and tissue paper. Together as a class, we then collaborated and produced our own metaphor poem. This is how it goes…
Poppies are…
Red as tomatoes and hot peppers.
Bright as the sun.
Important as the soldiers.
Special as our nursery.
