National Numeracy Day – 18th May

We are looking forward to celebrating National Numeracy Day on Wednesday 18th May!

Maths is all around us and in the run up to National Numeracy Day, I would love for you to take some photos of you that link to maths! Maybe it will be a picture of you using money to pay for something in the shop, maybe it will be of how many steps you have walked in a day, or maybe it will be of you practising your maths skills!

How creative can you be finding maths around your home and in the community? Please send all of your photographs to [email protected] so that I can make a video to celebrate maths!

Also, check out the official website (link below) because there are lots of fun activities that you can do with your children!

Family Learning Fun

A huge shout out to all the parents and grandparents that came along to our family learning session. We had a seaside themed afternoon with great fun painting ice creams, creating name cards, colouring sea pictures and even a decorate your own ice cream bar! 😋🍦🦀

Phonics drop in

Just a little reminder that on Wednesday there will be a phonics drop in for all parents who have children in EYFS and year 1. If your child is older but you know that they still find phonics useful then please still come along if you can. It will help you to know how to support your children with their phonics learning and give you an insight into what we teach your children in these sessions.

There are 2 sessions; one at 9am and one at 3.15pm. They will be the same presentation so you only need to attend one of them and they won’t last longer than 30 minutes.

We look forward to seeing you there

Postcard winners

There have been lots of wonderful children in Nursery this week, which has made it hard to choose postcard winners. A very well done to Oliver for showing such maturity today and well done to the Early Starters who have been busy making lots of new friends this week.

Anti-Stress Month

April is Anti-Stress month. We wonder – What do you like to do to stay calm?

I like to go for a long walk, talk to my friends and practise yoga to stay calm.

I wonder… can you draw a picture or bring in a photograph of what you do to stay calm and relaxed?

Mrs Hay 🙂
