We have been learning new skills in year 6 during our expedition – case study 3 ‘computing’. We have been coding and debugging – very technical! It has been great fun grappling with the codes and identifying the bugs within them. We have learnt how specific and detailed codes need to be when controlling inputs and outputs in order for them to complete actions you require. The year 6 staff are very impressed with our little computing experts this week!

Hello
Please find attached the google form for week 2 of our John o Groats to Lands End challenge. I will update the map on Monday evening so it gives everyone time to send their steps in. Good luck and keep those steps up!
I am so proud of Crew Overson today! They have worked so hard to succeed as a crew and complete the ‘sheet’ challenge! After yesterday they sat down and spent time discussing how they could achieve the challenge together. They talked about the importance of listening to each other and everyone having a voice and taking part.
Today they achieved the challenge with a few blips so tomorrow I am certain that they will complete it perfectly!
I have set a second challenge to find an alternative way of turning the sheet! Good Luck!
What a great day we have had! It has been a pleasure to welcome back ALL members of Crew Overson. We are facing a challenge with a large sheet this week. With all children standing on the sheet, they need to flip the sheet over – no one should step off of the sheet whilst doing it.
We haven’t achieved it yet but watch this space, our reflections and discussion during the debrief were awesome! We will grapple and achieve this challenge this week!
As part of our online safety lessons, the children have been writing and recording their own news scripts around e-Safety and some of the many dangers that can be found online. Full videos of the children reading their scripts will follow shortly!
I can’t wait to welcome you all back on Monday! You’ve all made me so proud during our lockdown and whilst we have been learning online. You have shown dedication and taken a lead on your own learning! I am so proud of you all!
Next week we will work hard to build our crew back together! This will be the starting point to great learning, good opportunities and beautiful work!
See you on Monday guys! I cannot wait!
Have a fabulous weekend! Xx

Here is a sneak peek of our Masked Reader!
Coming 4th March …
Throughout March, as a school we are planning to walk from John o Groats to Lands end and back! That’s 1,748 miles!
If my calculations are correct as a school we only need to do 110,505 steps a day! Easy!
So charge up your fit bits and smart watches and get your walking shoes ready!
At the end of the week complete the google form that I have attached to this blog and we will record your steps. There will be weekly prizes in school for most steps in a week and all school staff will be getting involved too.
Good luck and I hope you enjoy the challenge
