This week in Crew Jackson, we have been critiquing our speech writing against the rubric and specific features. I have been so impressed with the way the children have supported each other with the editing and improving process.
I can’t wait to read their final touchdowns and listen to them read their speeches.
This afternoon, I was blown away by the collaboration and kindness shown in Crew Jackson. The children encouraged, supported and coached each other through the challenge of sawing wood to make their frames for their final product. Their attitudes were so positive and I could not have asked for more from them. I loved the save the animal posters the children created that go with the speeches they are currently writing in English. It was definitely a ‘Happy Thursday’ in our crew today!

A reminder that red noses will continue to be on sale this week up until the day itself. They are priced at £1.50 per red nose and we only have a limited number remaining so make sure that you get yours bought early! School councillors will be bringing them round during morning crew.
Thank you to all those parents and grandparents that joined us this afternoon in Crew Jackson. It was so lovely to welcome you all back in to school. The children (and adults!) produced some beautiful save the planet art work and we finished with a fun rainforest kahoot quiz. A massive shout out to Evan for winning!
Friday 18th March 2020 is Red Nose Day in the UK. At Green Top we will be raising money for the event by selling red nose’s. Red nose’s will go on sale from tomorrow and school councillors will be bringing them to each class in the mornings, priced at £1.50. On the day, we will also be raising money by wearing something red and bringing in a £1 donation. To go along with this, the school council have also thought of some activities that we will be doing in the afternoon.
The chocolate bunny is still waiting to escape!!!
Remember the clue first clue that one digit is even and two digits are odd.
The new clue is that the number is greater than 100 and less than 500.

In Crew Jackson today we explored using protractors accurately to measure angles. I was very impressed with them referring each other back to the remember to list so that they all used them correctly.

On Friday, year 5 visited Tropical World in Leeds as part of our current expedition. The children enjoyed immersing themselves in the rainforest environment and linked this to their learning from school.During the workshop, the children demonstrated great recall by using our work in science to develop their understanding of animal classification.
