This morning we learnt about ‘rites of passage’ and how these link with making promises. The children went on to discuss both promises they have made and have received recently.

A massive shout out to Layla for producing an excellent watercolour linked to our expedition learning on rainforests.

This afternoon we were lucky enough to experience VR and bring our learning to life! From ants scurrying on the forest floor to gazing at sloths within the trees, we were able to learn about the rainforest like we were there ourselves – amazing!

Please see the attached documents which give you an overview for our current expedition as well as the extended study menu to enjoy learning at home!

Thank you to everyone who attended our family learning session this afternoon; it was so lovely to have so many people join us for a creative activity. The children have done so much learning today about the layers of the rainforest and I can not wait to see the final pieces tomorrow.

This morning we completely immersed ourselves in the rainforest by reading and listening to clues to find out about the different layers of the rainforest. We treasure hunted new vocabulary around the classroom, looked at an image, watched a video, read lots of facts and shared a poem; all of this helped us collaborate to create anchor charts. We went on to produce our own rainforest flap books and I was blown away by not only the recall of facts but by the time and care taken in ensuring their work was presented to a high standard. We just need to add the finishing touches tomorrow and I can’t wait to see the final version.
Keep up the great work everyone!

Year 6 will be participating in XP Outdoors this half term and PE – both on a Friday.
Please ensure your child has the correct change of clothing for each session.
Thank you
