Learning Posters

With everyone back in school, this week we have been spending time working as crew.  We have covered lots in expedition since Christmas and we have been working in teams to present our learning on posters. After discussing what a poster is and what needs to be included, we worked in our teams to present our learning. I was really impressed with the amount of details that everyone could remember.

Crew Barnett Cup Tower Challenge

On Wednesday, we completed the cup tower challenge. The aim was to build a cup tower but you couldn’t touch the cups with your hands. The children used an elastic band and string to make a lifting device. We talked about the importance of team work and communication.

After the task, we thought about how we can link it to our learning. When the towers fell down, we didn’t give up even though it made us feel sad. We talked about this might help us with our learning and that the more we tried to build our towers the easier it was to build.

Disco Wednesday

Class 8 have enjoyed trying out some medieval dancing today … Well done, awesome following of instructions and working together everyone!

‘Poop the potato’ Challenge

We had another challenge in Class 10 this morning to put our team work to the test. Putting a potato into a bucket. Sounds easy right! Not when you can’t touch it with your hands. There were lots of laughs and everyone had great fun.

Cracking Collaboration

After a brilliant morning of crew challenges, Class 10 were challenged again this afternoon. They were challenged to work in their groups to create a poster to display what they have learnt in our expedition this term. Each group could choose what they wanted to include on their poster. I was really impressed with how much everyone could remember and how well they worked together to start the posters.

Keep a look out for our finished posters later in the week.

Crew Barnett Balloon Challenge

It was great to see everyone back in Class 10 today and what a fantastic day we’ve had. All the children were really excised to be back and see their friends. We started off the morning with a crew challenge – who can build the tallest free standing tower? It was great to see the amazing communication and teamwork within each team.

Just another manic Monday …

It has been great to welcome back a full class to Class 8 today – welcome back everyone!

The children have been fantastic and settled back into routine very well – great job all, I am so proud of you 🙂

We’ve had a busy day, including a musical afternoon where we worked in groups to compose and perform a story – changing timbre, dynamics and pitch to tell the tale of a knight fighting a dragon to rescue the princess.
