Y3/4 – Dog Safety Assembly with the Blue Cross Trust

On Wednesday, we were fortunate enough to be visited by the Blue Cross Trust who delivered a really important assembly all about how to stay safe around dogs – big and small! Children learnt how to read a dog’s body language as well as the right and wrong ways to act around dogs to keep themselves, the dog and others safe. Why not ask your child if they can remember some of the warning signs that a dog might be unsafe for them to approach or to pet?

Class 10 – Chair Drumming

Today, we enjoyed our first chair drumming session with Mr Pickles. Fortunately, the weather was good and we could take our music outside – well done everyone!

Year 3 and 4 Family Learning dates

We are excited to invite families of our Year 3 and Year 4 pupils to take part in our upcoming Family Learning Sessions, which will take place during the first week back after the break!

These sessions are a fantastic opportunity for parents and carers to get involved your child’s new Expedition. This term, the activity will include an outdoor element, so we recommend wearing comfortable footwear as you’ll be moving around the school grounds.

Session Dates:

  • Year 3: Wednesday 16th April, 1:30 – 3:00pm
  • Year 4: Thursday 17th April, 1:30 – 3:00pm

We’re really looking forward to welcoming you into school. It’s sure to be a great afternoon of exploration, learning and fun!

Class 10 – Faith Day – Islam

Today was our faith day focus on Islam. We learnt all about the religion of Islam and found out about the art that is produced and celebrated within this faith. We even had a go at creating our own beautiful Islamic art using geometric patterns. Check some of our work out below:

Class 10 – Super Star Attendance

A huge well done to everyone who achieved 100% attendance in Class 10 this term … what an achievement! All of the children received a 100% certificate and a treat from Mrs Fitz’s infamous treat shop 🙂

Y3/4 Science Week – Mr Chalk, Associate Nurse – Our Expert Visitor

Today, we carried on our learning from science week and enjoyed a special visit by Eli’s dad (a.k.a. Mr Chalk). Mr Chalk is an associate nurse and he shared not only a fascinating insight into his role but also lots of examples of how biology (and even maths!) helps him to look after the patients in his care. Of course, the children had lots of questions to ask but they were also fantastic at Mr Chalk’s ‘guess the broken bone’ quiz – well done boys and girls!

A big thank you to Eli from Class 10 for lending us his dad for the afternoon, and an even bigger thank you to Mr Chalk for his engaging and informative presentation!
