Class 7 Assembly

We had our celebration assembly in the classroom this morning and the children enjoyed celebrating all of their fantastic HOWL points from this week.

Our Be Kind champ was Cara, our Work Hard champ was Reef and our Get Smart champ was Katie. Poppy won the overall HoWL oinks certificate and we also enjoyed hearing about Annabel’s recent blue grading in martial arts. Well done to all our winners!

Digital Leaders Deadline

Don’t forget to get your Digital Leader applications in by tomorrow’s deadline – Thursday 3rd February 2022.

Mr Taylor will be selecting two from each class based on the applications received so you have to be in it to win it! Good luck everyone 🙂

Wednesday Wonders

Class 7 have enjoyed sorting and comparing shapes in maths this afternoon, as well a special read of Bliss’ story book by Charley from Y6 to celebrate National Storytelling week.

Shout outs today go to: Reef, who has been making a consistent effort in all of his learning behaviours since returning to school after Christmas; and, Cara for her super kind thoughts and actions in class today as well as some very impressive mathematical thinking in our magic maths today. Well done to you both!

Manatee Madness

Class 7 have enjoyed learning all about manatees this morning, courtesy of Annabel’s latest home learning. Thank you for sharing this with us, Annabel and we all think your homemade manatee is super cute!

Revisiting Being Kind

One of the HOWLs that we work towards each day is being kind. We revisited this in crew this week and talked about what makes us unique. It was great to hear everyone sharing what made them special. It was lovely to hear how the children discussed their difference but also realising that despite our difference we all have so many things that are the same. We talked about how we might not always like the same things as everyone else but that it’s ok to ask about others interests if we are not sure. It was also lovely to hear the children talk about how it doesn’t matter if we look different on the outside because it’s what’s inside that counts.

Let’s support! Small changes that make a big difference!

Ariel are asking you to support their campaign by pledging to make a change!

Washing colder is a big step towards a brighter future for our planet because did you know, the temperature of your wash makes up to 60% of your laundry’s CO2 footprint?

Can you challenge friends and family to lower the temperature next time they do their laundry? When Ariel hit 1 million pledges, they will donate £100,000 to WWF’s climate, polar and wider conservation work. Not only this, but they will also make a donation for every Ariel pods cold wash special patch that is purchased too.

Can you help us with this and pledge to make a change? Follow the link…

Digital Leaders

Notice for all students in Year 2 to Year 5!

Students in Year 2, 3, 4 and 5 have an amazing opportunity to become a Digital Leader within their class.

This is a fantastic opportunity for children to develop their own individual skills when it comes to the latest technology. Children who are successful will get the opportunity to visit XP East and potentially the Apple Store to have further training on how to use technology including iPads, MacBooks and some of the other great products that are used throughout school. Our Digital Leaders will then become the experts who can then pass on their knowledge to others.

Below is a link to the Digital Leaders website where you can find out further information.

Applications will need to be sent to Mr Taylor by Thursday 3rd February explaining why you would make a fantastic Digital Leader. This can be done in a format of your choice including a letter, slides or even a video showcasing your IT skills.

We look forward to receiving your applications!

Amazing Work in Class 7
