We are looking forward to celebrating National Numeracy Day on Wednesday 18th May!
Maths is all around us and in the run up to National Numeracy Day, I would love for you to take some photos of you that link to maths! Maybe it will be a picture of you using money to pay for something in the shop, maybe it will be of how many steps you have walked in a day, or maybe it will be of you practising your maths skills!
How creative can you be finding maths around your home and in the community? Please send all of your photographs to [email protected] so that I can make a video to celebrate maths!
Also, check out the official website (link below) because there are lots of fun activities that you can do with your children!

In G-Block, Crew Dutton have been learning all about Ramadan and the religious holiday Eid. They made their own fantastic gift boxes to mark the end of Ramadan, wore some traditional clothing, and have learnt a lot about Islam including what the holy book is called and the importance of praying. They have been superstars! Well done!
On Friday, we were investigating the timeline of Britains connection to the slave trade. We started by discussing and ordering the events before creating our own timelines.
Once we had completed our timelines, we had a silent gallery with the whole of year 3 so we could share our beautiful work with everyone.
The new homework menu has now been added to the expedition website and year 3 online classroom. We can’t wait to see what you’ll get up it! Don’t forget to share your pictures with us.
Congratulations to the children in year 3 and 4 who got ‘Out of this World’ this week.
This week, Year 2 have been practising adding the suffixes -er, -est, -ed, -y and -ing to root words ending in ‘e’ after a consonant. We learnt that when this happens, we need to drop the ‘e’ before adding the suffix. These are the words we have been learning for next week’s spelling test:
Class 7 were super excited to receive their Doncaster Reading Challenge packs today. Children will receive stickers and certificates as they collect their ‘miles’ around Doncaster with each book they read for pleasure … we can’t wait to see how far you travel!

WOW some awesome achievements this morning, celebrated as a phase crew! Well done to our Be Kind, Get Smart, Work Hard shoutouts, some fantastic HOWL point winners and we even had a Silver reading certificate for Charlie. Remember KS1, keep reading to get these awards 😀
