Spectacular Spoons!

I can’t believe the amount of wonderful character spoons we had fetched into school as part of our World Book Day competition! The creativity and effort that has gone into each and every one is amazing!

The Learning Council judged the spoons this morning but it was such a hard choice that we have ended up with 8 winners instead of 4!

Watch this space to see the winning spoons tomorrow …

Here are just some of the fabulous characters!

Class 15 – Red Nose Day Fun

To celebrate Red Nose Day, Class 15 have enjoyed designing their own red noses and eating lots of buns (of course)! Thank you to everyone who has supported our charitable endeavour today – every little bit really does help 🙂

Class 15 – Art, Sport & Reading Extroadinaires!

Wow – Class 15 have blown me away in all areas today, well done everybody 🙂

We have completed our Star Reader assessments, started work on our final product artwork and enjoyed a great game of hockey for PE. To end the day, we enjoyed watching some of the film from the text we are currently studying – The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.

Here’s to another fantastic day tomorrow to round off our week.

Year 5 – A special visit to help us think a little more carefully about racism & being kind

This afternoon, we were very fortunate to have a special visit from a Y5 pupil’s parent who shared with us the history of racism and racist language, and who encouraged us all to think a little more carefully about how the things we say and do can impact on others. Thank you to Martin for sharing an important message with us and for reminding us of the importance of being kind to one another, even if we are different in any kind of way!

Class 15 – World Book Day 2024

Wow – what a fantastic effort by Class 15 for World Book Day! Costumes and props are fantastic and our first entries for the wooden spoon competition are amazing … well done everyone! The children have enjoyed different reading-themed activities throughout the day, including designing their own book covers and favourite book reviews.

Don’t forget – there is still time to decorate your wooden spoon as a book character and enter the competition for the deadline next week. Why not plan it into your long weekend and make use of the days that school is closed for teacher training days?

As part of World Book Day, we are also looking to revamp our reading area and the children have been so excited to help design this with a space theme … watch this space! (Literally!)
