Class 13 – Swimming 🏊🏼‍♂️

This is a final reminder that Class 13/ Taylor will be swimming tomorrow morning.

Please be in school between 8.15 – 8.30 as we will be getting on the coach at 8.40am. If you are not in school by that time, you will miss the swimming lesson.

Other final reminders:

  • The DMBC and Swimming Pool policy states that children must wear either a one-piece swimming costume, trunks or above the knee shorts.
  • If your child uses an inhaler, they must take it to the lesson. Inhalers should be clearly labelled and be available at the poolside. Should any child fail to take their inhaler they will not be allowed to swim.
  • If your child has a verruca they are still permitted to swim.
  • Long hair, fringes must be tied back off the face with a plain band. Scrunchies, slides and headbands are not permitted.

  • All jewellery must be removed for swimming lessons.
  • Your child may wear goggles if they wish.

Sport photos! ⚽️🏉

Mr Ambler and myself are creating a PE display for school. In this display, we want to celebrate our sporting successes across school whether it is a tournament, PE clubs or outside teams.

Please pass them onto your teacher and we will add these as part of our celebration 😀

Thanks,

Mr Gerrard and Mr Ambler 😆

Class 13 – Layers of the Earth 🌎

As part of hook week, we have been looking at the layers of the earth, including the crust, the mantle, the outer core and the inner core. We have been creating different models of the earth using card and tissue paper and labelling the different layers.

Class 13 – Aspirations Week 💡

Thank you to all of our visitors who were able to come in and talk to the children this week. We were able to hear what it is like to work as someone who buys and sells medication across the world for hospitals, to be a quantity surveyor, a dancer, a business owner and even a firearms instructor at South Yorkshire Police. The children were so engaged and had so many questions for them all. Hopefully it will have inspired a few children to think about what they want to do when they get older.

Class 13 – Celebration of Learning 👏🏼

This afternoon, Class 13 were able to take part in their Celebration of Learning. Children were able to complete a number of different activities based on what we have been learning during this expedition, before finishing off with a Kahoot quiz. Well done to Andra, Chloe and family who were our winners today and a big thank you to all of those parents and carers who attended.

Class 13 – Money Matters 💷

As part of aspirations week, we have been looking at money and the importance of making sensible decisions when it comes to looking after it. We spoke about some of the risks that are associated with money and what we can do to prevent them. We finally played an investment-based game where the children had to balance risk and reward when came to investing their money. Some of the children managed to make a good profit whilst others found out the hard way how easy it can be to lose money when the wrong choices are made.

Class 13 – Measurements 📏

In maths this week, we have been looking at different units of metric measurements. We looked at how to convert between millimetres, centimetres and metres before measuring some of the the different items in the classroom.

Year 3/4 football tournament! ⚽️

Today, Year 3 and 4 were lucky to be able to visit XP for a tournament against other Trust schools: Norton Juniors and Plover.

The tournament started with a match between both Green Top teams, with a hard fought contest between year 3 and 4. The Year 3 team had a great time, showed lots of resilience and never gave up. They just kept going and scored some beautiful goals. For much of Year 3, this was their first time playing games together, so should be proud of their efforts.

The highlight for Year 3 was their 1-0 win over Plover, with a great move sealing the win. The team defended well and it was great to see a clean sheet being kept!

Year 4 had some hard fought games, winning a number and drawing a couple of others. The game of the tournament was their 4-4 draw, where they never gave up and showed tremendous resilience.

We can’t wait to keep building as teams and improving with more games in the future!

Myself and Mr Taylor really appreciate adults helping out with lifts, we really could not have done it without you.

Thanks once again and enjoy your weekend! 😆
