Y3/4 Expedition field work

On Monday 2nd September, we will be taking year 3 and 4 children on an evacuation trip to our local Methodist Church as part of our new expedition. There is no expectation for children to dress up, however if they wish to they may. We will all be making a gas mask box, an identity label and a luggage label to take too.

The aim of the field work is for the children to experience something similar to what the children in WW2 did during their evacuation. We will leave school at 1pm with a return in time for 3pm pick up. We are hoping this work will engage the children into their new learning.

Here are some ideas for inspiration but please don’t feel you have to buy an outfit – see what you have in the trusty wardrobe!

How can we work together to achieve an end goal?

Over the last few days, the children in Crew Mumby have worked very hard to produce an outstanding piece of collaborative art. We talked about the importance of everyone playing their part to ensure it could be the best we could produce. I think our message will inspire us as the year goes on….

Y6 Leavers Assembly

As we close the chapter on another wonderful school year, we want to take a moment to extend our heartfelt gratitude to each of you for attending the Year 6 Leavers Assembly. Your presence made the event truly special and memorable for our students, and we couldn’t have asked for a more supportive audience.

This assembly was more than just a celebration; it was a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and growth our Year 6 students have shown throughout their primary school journey. Seeing you there, sharing in their joy and accomplishments, reinforced the strong community we have built together. Your cheers, smiles, and even the occasional tear of pride, were the perfect send-off as our students prepare to embark on their next adventure in secondary school.

We also want to acknowledge the tremendous support and encouragement you’ve provided your children over the years. Your involvement in their education and school life has been invaluable, and it shows in the confident, capable young individuals they have become. The partnership between parents and school staff is truly the foundation of our students’ success.

As we bid farewell to our Year 6 students, we know they carry with them not only the knowledge and skills they’ve gained but also the love and support from you, their parents. Thank you for being an integral part of this journey.

Enjoy a few moments captured from yesterday. https://youtu.be/NSyCJ0WpNy8

It’s not a goodbye, it’s a see you later.

Year 6 Leavers Party

Wow what an amazing day we have had celebrating our fabulous year 6 children. To finish off our week of treats and celebrations, we enjoyed a Hawaii themed party. A fantastic time was had by all – face paint, takeaway, ice cream, singing, limbo, football and finally a water fight which was obviously instigated by Mr Ambler!!! Year 6 Bridlington

Wow – what a fabulous leavers treat we had today! The rain stayed away from Bridlington and everyone had a great time on the beach – playing football, playing cricket, digging in the sand and splashing in the sea. It is clear our children do not understand ‘only paddle’ and as you will see on the photos below they got VERY VERY wet! Apologies for the amount of sand and sea water they brought home in their bags and on their clothes but they were having too much fun to stop them!!!

The fish and chips were amazing, the ice creams were delicious and the children were fantastic. No better way to start the leavers celebrations this week especially after their hard work all year was rewarded with excellent SATs results last week.

Thank you for all being amazing year 6.
