Class 11 newspaper feature finders! 📰🗞️

This morning, Class 11 worked superbly well together so that they could find and then understand the features of a newspaper report, in preparation for our next set of writing. We looked into headlines, fronted adverbials and how we need to use facts to get the true story out there. We’ll be practising this in the coming days, especially the 5Ws when it comes to writing introductions!

Year 3/4 Book Launch

We are excited to finally have our WW2 books published and available to buy!

Our book launch will take place on Thursday 11th May between 4.15pm and 5.30pm. Please pop in between these times to our VE day inspired celebration to enjoy some war time music and a slice of cake!

Books will be on sale for £9.95 and your child will also have the opportunity to autograph their book once purchased!

We can’t wait to see you there!

Class 11 fossils 🪨

Today, Class 11 have looked into the process of fossilisation. We learned that happens overtime, after animals decompose, layers of sediment rises over the bones and these eventually turn into rock. We know that they are rare to find, too. We even made our own fossils, which we will come back to tomorrow!

National Skipping Week

This week is National Skipping week and as a school we will be taking part to see how many jumps we can do. Each day, the children will get the opportunity to take part and count how many jumps they can do and we will create a school total each day. Watch this video to find out more.

Want to take part at home?

School council will be getting involved to see who can skip or jump in the most unusual places. All you need to do to get involved is take a picture or video of you jumping or skipping somewhere unusual and send it into school. The deadline for entries is Tuesday 2nd May. Winners will be announced on Friday 5th May.

Happy skipping!
