Year 6 Learning Club

In Year 6 we don’t let a busy morning of 2 maths SATs papers and an afternoon of writing stop us – we power on and show exceptional HOWLs at learning club too. Mrs Rafferty and I were blown away with the hard work and dedication of the group of children that stayed after school yesterday to practice their maths reasoning skills ready for this morning’s final maths assessment. Well done guys – you are awesome!

London Meeting- Y6 residential

Can you believe it’s less than 8 school weeks until our London residential?

Mr Ambler, Mrs Jackson and I would like to invite parents of those children who are attending this year’s visit to join us on Monday 22nd April from 4:30. This meeting will be to inform you of our finalised itinerary, kit list and to ask any questions you might have. The meeting will be held in the school hall, please access via the Ash Tree Road entrance.

There is no requirement to bring your child to the meeting. If you are unable to attend, please contact [email protected] and the slides can be shared via email to you.

Thank again for supporting this residential,

Mr Mumby

Year 6 – Our train expert

A massive shout out to Theo’s Mum who came and spoke to the children this morning about her role as a train driver. The children loved hearing all about: the skills needed to be a train driver, what is involved in the day to day job and the importance of train safety. They went on to ask some thoughtful and enquiring questions and hopefully it will have inspired some of our children to set themselves aspirations for a future career. Ask the children if they can remember the importance of 6 sheep to a train driver; this was linked to an interesting but funny fact!

Crew Ambler – Family Learning

Well done to everyone for completing their 3D name plates using one point perspective on Tuesday. It was great to see the skills you have been developing with Mrs Green in G Block. Keep up the great work Crew Ambler!
