Skara Brae

This week as part of our History case study we have been looking at the stone age settlement of Skara Brae. Y5 have used their research skills to put together presentations all about Skara Brae and we have been blown away with the quality of work they have produced whilst home learning. Well done Y5

Just keep Skimming, Just keep Skimming 🐠📚

This week, we are focussing on improving and mastering our reading skills. Yesterday, we focussed on Skimming and Scanning and accurately retrieving an answer and key information from a variety of texts.

I was really impressed with both the children at home and at school with your excellent motivation to improve your reading and the pledges you have set yourself to improve.

Well done everyone, keep up the good work!

Expedition Home Learning

I would like to give a shout out to Kayla and Freya for their fantastic work this week in expedition. I have been really impressed with the quality of work both girls have produced this week. Well done Kayla and Freya!

Shoutout for Lawson💫

Lawson has blown me away with his dedication to his learning during the last two weeks. He is really hooked into our expedition and at home has created a brilliant cave painting using his new knowledge of the Stone Age. In school, he has worked hard to complete a timeline showing the evolution of PlayStation. It’s so lovely to see you proud of your achievements Lawson – well done!!

Helping each other using critique 💫

We have continued to build our knowledge and confidence of using Jamboard and on Friday we used Jam board for our writing. We practiced using informal language and using the features from our fishbones to create an email from Michael to his friends.

Well done to those working at home, I was impressed to see how you can confidently use Jamboard to peer critique each other’s writing. Awesome job guys!

UNDER THE SEA 🐬- virtual marine aquarium

For all those that love mermaids, sea life and marine biology there is a fab weekly virtual lesson every Friday to take part in. There will be lots of interesting facts and experiments linking to sea animals, life and their habitats.

Here’s a photo of Crew Myers’ future marine biologist Freya enjoying the first lesson today.

Well done Sophia💫

Shoutout to Sophia for her awesome story writing linking to Evolution. You have included lots of vocabulary linking to our new expedition which shows your understanding of this weeks Expedition lessons. Well done superstar!

Awesome Artwork ✏️

A huge shout out to Lexi and Lawson who yesterday put their artistic skills together to create a brilliant piece of artwork linking to the Stone Age and cave paintings. Brilliant collaboration and teamwork!
