Don’t loose your feet!

For the last two days, we have worked as a crew to complete the tarpaulin challenge. The challenge was to flip the piece of tarpaulin completely over whilst the whole crew is stood on top. Whenever a crew member lost their stepping and stepped off the sheet we had to start again. Today, we finally completed the challenge after lots of problem solving and working together. Well done Crew – lots of great communication skills!

💫💫SHOUT OUT!! 💫💫

A very big and well deserved shoutout to Sophia and Lilly. They have both been working hard at home to continue their maths learning and it has really improved their confidence. It is so nice to see you working hard to ‘Get Smart’ and seeing your pride in your achievements!

Well done girls!

50 Howl points each – Get Smart ☺️

Jammin’ Algorithms

Yesterday, as part of our third Case Study, the children enjoyed directing me as their sprite. In groups, they had the task of writing a set of instructions to make a jam sandwich. They worked really hard to make sure their codes were clear and specific and enjoyed laughing at me when I couldn’t follow their instructions properly!
Thankfully I managed to follow some fantastic algorithms and we all enjoyed our jam sandwiches!

Do you wanna build a cup tower? 🥛

Yesterday, our Crew challenge was to see who could successfully build the tallest tower of cups – without touching the cups with our hands. We had lots of fun in our groups problem solving and being resilient to make sure the towers were successful. Even when it was frustrating when they fell down you all worked together to get the tower back up again! Well done everyone! #crewmyers

How do you like your eggs in a morning? 🥚

How do your like your eggs in a morning? We like ours in parachutes!!

Yesterday, we put our parachutes to the test and tested who’s were successful in protecting their egg from being smashed!

All groups worked really hard throughout the week, showing great crew behaviours and working hard to communicate with each other and listen to ways they can improve their parachute.

We only had two smashed eggs so I thinks that’s an EGGSELLENT result! Well done everyone – we all enjoyed this activity (even myself and Mr Ambler!)

WHO CAN SAVE THE EGG? 🥚🥚

Yesterday in Crew, we started the challenge of creating our own protection device to protect an egg when dropped from a height. The children used a variety of resources and worked in teams to create them. We will be finishing them today ready to drop the eggs tomorrow!!

Welcome back Crew Myers 🌈

What a lovely and very busy first day back! It was lovely to see lots of smiley faces and lots of friendly chatter catching up and happy to be back with friends!

In Crew today, we enjoyed sharing our thoughts, feelings and any worries we had about returning to school. We completed some lovely rainbows that show all of our feelings and the things that lockdown have made us thankful for and appreciate more. There were some lovely and very heartfelt appreciations!

We finished off with some team building activities – I am super excited to continue with our team games tomorrow!
