Here are some videos to support you with the methods we are teaching in school.
We have had a great afternoon looking at perspective and turning ourselves into giants or ants! Have a look at some of our favourite pictures.
Yesterday, we used all of our separation knowledge to complete the clean water challenge. Everyone worked together in groups to try and get their water the cleanest. We used our new scientific knowledge and used a range of science equipment – what a fun afternoon!
On Monday, we had our first Community Crew Meeting since Christmas, it was lovely to see everyone together again and celebrate the great start to our learning in Spring term!
A huge shout out to everyone who received HOWL point certificates and especially our Crew Champions! An added shout out to Miss Barnett’s Crew for their impressive Howl point total!! I wonder if anyone will top it next week?!
This term, Year 5 will be continuing XP outdoors with Mr Kershaw. This will now be on a WEDNESDAY morning! Please can children bring a sensible and warm change of clothes and shoes as they will be outside.
PE will continue to be on a THURSDAY afternoon so children will need appropriate PE kits for outdoor PE.
Many thanks,
The Year 5 Team x
We have kick started our science case study so far this week and today completed our first science experiment and wrote up the investigation! We investigated different solids and how they dissolved in liquid to make soluble solutions.
What a busy day we had yesterday! Firstly, we had a beautiful Christmas service at the church. I was super proud of the beautiful singing and the bravery and courage of everyone that had a speaking part, you all spoke so confidently and clearly!
We also enjoyed our Christmas dinner and time in the snow dome thanks! We finished off the day with lots of games and party food!
This morning, Jason, our Crew Councillor taught us all about Christingle. He showed lots of courage standing in front of the class to share his knowledge. A huge shout out to Toby too who knew lots about the religious tradition! We then made our own Christingle’s and they look fab!
This week, Year 5 enjoyed a magical day at Warner Bros Studios for Harry Potter in the snow! What a fantastic day we had and lots of beautiful memories made! Thank you to all of our parent helpers for volunteering to come and support – it wouldn’t have been possible without you 💫💫
