Year 5 Family Learning!

A huge thank you to all of the adults that were able to join us yesterday afternoon for our first Family Learning of the year.

It was a lovely opportunity for us all to get together as a year group and create some artwork linking to the layers of the rainforest that we’ve been learning about this week! We can’t wait to see the finished pictures up on display in our classrooms!

Class Spetch – What a wonderful first week!

Wow, what a fantastic start to Year 5 we’ve had this week. We’ve been so busy but had SOOOO much fun.

We’ve supported the Thorne and Moorends Food Bank and are very grateful to everyone who was able to send in a donation. The volunteers at the Food Bank are extremely thankful for how much we managed to collect in only 2 days!

We’ve also completed some collaborative artwork and now have some fantastic wood cookies displaying our Character Traits.

We enjoyed our time at Camp Green Top and took part in Mr Kershaw’s water challenge which was great fun and we even managed to win despite getting a little wet!!

Not forgetting our amazing Year 5 campout on Wednesday. The children enjoyed their gorgeous food from Jenson’s Mum and Dad’s van and enjoyed being together and taking part in campfire games. The children made some postcards to show their gratitude and Jenson presented these to his parents during the camp out. Yesterday afternoon, we completed the orienteering challenge and despite being VERY tired Macky and Junior still managed to come SECOND place in the whole school! Great job boys!

This afternoon, we’re looking forward to the Water Challenge so keep an eye out for the photographs!

An amazing start to the year, I can’t wait for what’s to come.

Year 5 Orienteering fun!

We had great fun this afternoon orienteering completing timed challenges! Despite the tiredness from camp, Harrison and Charlie from Crew Knowles came first out of the whole school with an incredible time of 3mins 41 seconds!! They were closely followed by Macky and Junior with an amazing time of 3mins 51 seconds! Well done boys – smashed it!
