We have spent a lovely playtime this morning getting to know our new phase partners in the KS1 playground. We made lots of new friends and had a great time with our older brothers and sisters. We can’t wait to make the move permanent!

Well done to all of the children who took part today! You were all fantastic and I’m sure everyone watching was extremely proud too!
Thanks to all of our parents and carers that came today too and supported our school and children. We hope you enjoyed it just as much!
Year 1 and 2 are very excited for their sports day on Friday 14th June. It will take place on the key stage 2 field and we are hoping to start by 9 o clock. Children should come to school in their PE clothes on Friday only. Can every child please be in a pair of trainers and their PE kit: black leggings / tracksuit bottoms or shorts and a PE top. The weather isn’t looking too great but we can hope for the best!
Refreshments will also be available.
Please can we ask that all parents stay behind the respect barrier so that we can safely monitor children.
See you all there and let’s all pray for some sun!

Years 1 and 2 have had a fantastic time at the disco this afternoon. Hotdogs and sweets galore!
A massive shout out to all staff that stayed to support the disco and especially to the Friends of Green Top who have sorted all of the food and refreshments…we really appreciate it!

A huge thank you to all the parents and carers who came with us today on our family learning event. We were very lucky that the forecast rain did not make an appearance as we walked around our town looking at the landmarks that we have been learning about. How many can you spot in the slideshow below?
Today the children will be going on a local walk to support our expedition learning. As the weather forecast is predicting rain please ensure your child comes to school in suitable clothing for the wet weather – raincoats with a hood, suitable shoes etc.
We hope you can join us!
Years 1 and 2 have loved their celebration lunch today…not much left to clear up anyway!!! X x x
Key stage 1 would love to invite parents and carers to come on a local walk with their children to look at various landmarks and use maps to support their learning they have been doing in geography this term. If the weather is kind to us we may even have a chance to draw some of these beautiful places and buildings as we go along our journey.
Year 1 family learning will take place on Tuesday 21st May
Year 2 family learning will take place on Wednesday 22nd May
We will be leaving school at 9 o clock but you are welcome to come into school and join the children for their morning activity from 8.30 or come back to the office for 9 o clock.
We hope to see you there, thanks, from the key stage 1 team x x x
Big well done to our Crew Champions, we had so much to say about our superstars this week! We had some super steward shoutouts too, thank you for always helping to keep our school clean, tidy and organised.
This week in year 2 we have had a few more children getting those sparkly pencils for beautiful craftsmanship and quality in their work, presentation and handwriting.
Shoutout for those children engaging beautifully with Numbots and TTRockstars, we can really see the hard work paying off. KS1 also had some reading certificates to celebrate too, with lots of children working their way quickly through reading lots of different things. Don’t forget, it doesn’t have to be a school book to be recorded in our reading diaries!!
Finally, a big well done to Crew Shaw who won our attendance competition this week with a whopping 99%! It is so great to see the children so excited for this award, I wonder if we can get 100% next week….
Arts and crafts club managed to find some sun yesterday! The children sat out in the sun for the chance to draw something that they could see, before we headed back in to colour them in. They focused on all the little details around us and worked so hard to create beautiful pieces of art work! Hopefully the sun will return next week so we can get back outside.
