A huge well done to Reeva, Savannah and Junior who won certificates today in our phase assembly for demonstrating fabulous learning attitudes in our Work Hard, Be Kind and Get Smart HoWLs respectively.

Also massive congratulations to Nathaniel who was our overall HoWL point winner this week.

So proud of you guys!

Class 6 Family Learning.

Class 6 would like to invite you to join us for a family learning event on Tuesday 2nd November …

As you know, we have been learning all about being superheroes in our local community and about how we can make a difference to the world around us. With this in mind, we would like you to join us in a litter picking event in the Thorne community when we return to school after half-term.

If you would like to join us, please arrive at school on 2nd November at 1.30pm and we aim to return to school by 2.30pm ready for hometime. A text will be sent by school as a reminder.

We look forward to seeing you then,

Miss Rodgers, Miss Wilkins and Mr Wright

Adjective excellence

Class 6 have had a great morning reading and acting out adjectives for their partners to guess, then using some of these to write a character description for Miss Honey from our core text Matilda. Everyone worked beautifully but we were particularly impressed by Haran and Florence who worked with growing independence on their task.

Great job guys.

Take 10 reading in class 6

On Friday we took part in the Take 10 reading challenge for mental health. At 10am we all took 10 minutes to escape our cares by getting engrossed in a good book. There really is no better way to relax and I’m sure you will notice, everyone in our class was totally caught up in their books.

Brilliant work in Class 6

A huge congratulations to our postcard winners from Friday and today.

On Friday Lexi and Hunter showed great learning habits in everything they did. Their effort levels were sky high. Just how we like them.

Today’s winners, Ezra and Tallon were over the moon to get their postcards for their fabulous adding skills in maths.

Great start to the week guys. Keep it up.

More sky high effort in class 6

Wow! What can I say about my superstars? I continue to be amazed by their effort and engagement. The smiles on these faces just go to show how much they are enjoying their learning. I love to hear how they have been sharing their knowledge with you all at home.

Massive well done to Shae and Anais who won our postcards today for their awesome maths work,,,keep reaching for the stars class 6. I am so proud of each and every one of you.

Class 6 Learning Legends

Lots of fantastic learning attitudes in Class 6 yesterday in all areas of the curriculum.

Olivia showed she was a real Have a go Henry in our maths blast off by challenging herself to give every question a try no matter how tricky.

Harrison’s hand was forever in the air as he volunteered answers to every question asked during Mrs Walton’s RE session in G Block.

And Logan produced some outstanding adjectives to label a picture of himself in our Literacy Labs.

You are all-round, out of this world superstars Class 6 and we are very proud of you!
