Key stage 1 celebration of learning

We are so excited to finally invite parents to see the fantastic video that our children made during the Autumn term. The expedition was called ‘ What will I do to be a superhero in my community?’ and we believe that this video showcases all of their hard work throughout the term.

We would like to invite all parents and carers to XP East for our film premiere on Tuesday 17th May 2022. It will begin at 5pm and last for approximately 45 minutes to an hour.

We would love if the children could come in their best party clothes, just like the movie stars do at a film premiere. There will be refreshments available.

Please let teachers know how many people from your family will be attending. It would be great to see as many faces as possible at the event to really celebrate the children’s learning!

Please complete the following form by clicking on the link below so that we know how many people will be attending. Alternatively, please speak to your class teacher to let them know who will be coming from your family.

Class 6 get their KIXX on our 3G pitch

I’m betting there were some tired little legs tonight after the fantastic Kixx session we had this afternoon. Coach Cameron put us through our paces and taught us some fantastic new skills as well as playing lots of awesome games with us. Check out the videos here

I was super impressed by how well the children listened and Coach Cameron was dazzled by the talents of some of our children. I gave Shae and Junior the learning legend postcards for their hard work.

We can’t wait for our next session. Thank you Coach Cameron.

Defenders of the Earth

Check out these 2 little superstars. Today is World Earth Day and in class 6 we have been extending our learning from past expeditions to discuss how we can make small changes to protect our planet. Maddison and Thea both had brilliant ideas and have made pledges to invest in our future by making these changes.

Proud of all your ideas today guys. Our world is in safe hands.

Brilliant first week

From baby teachers to flying drones to treasure hunting time capsules with wonderful talk for writing sessions in between, what an amazing first week we have had in class 6. In addition to this I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the children for their amazingly confident student led conferences. I couldn’t be more proud of how well they coped with their first experience of these wonderful events and I’m sure you will agree, they smashed it!

Bring on the rest of term!

Time Team

Year 1 had a fantastic morning working in teams to solve clues to uncover the spot where a time capsule from 22 years ago was buried.

We were very interested to read the letters and look at the photographs which told part of the history of our awesome school.

We finished by having a great discussion about what we would put in a time capsule to tell our own story.

What a wonderful way to whet our appetites for our future learning.

Drone fun

Class 6 had an amazing afternoon yesterday listening to our expert visitor Geoff explaining how he takes aerial photographs using a drone. Check out the photos of our session.

Amazing standard of work

Well done Nathaniel, Carter and Cara. They shared their work from the Spring expedition with Andy Sprakes today, an executive of the XP Trust, and he was so impressed with the standard that he saw. He sent them a postcard to celebrate their progress and we are all very proud! Keep up the great work! X
