John o Groats to Lands End – Week 2

Hello

Please find attached the google form for week 2 of our John o Groats to Lands End challenge. I will update the map on Monday evening so it gives everyone time to send their steps in. Good luck and keep those steps up!

Paper cup challenge!

Crew Knowles were inspired by Crew Mumby yesterday and decided to take on the paper cup challenge! The children had to stack cups by using only string and elastic bands! If the cups ever tumbled, they had to start right back at the beginning!

The collaboration and resilience that was shown throughout was truly inspiring! Not once did the children give up!!

Crew Challenge!

Today’s challenge in Crew Knowles was to form different letters of the alphabet using just our bodies! Don’t be fooled – this task is really not as easy as it sounds! We tried some different letters before regrouping and reflecting on what was successful and also how we can get better next time! Watch this space for our second attempt!

Tarpaulin Turmoil Part 2!

I am SO proud of my crew today! Before we attempted the tarp challenge again, we had a reflective circle to think about what went well yesterday and what didn’t go so well. The children really thought about these things and were able to reflect with each other on what they could do to approach the challenge differently today.

It is safe to say that after their reflections and really supporting each other as a crew, they managed the challenge!!

Well done Crew Knowles!

Tarpaulin Turmoil!

It has been wonderful to see Crew Knowles and their lovely smiley faces back in the classroom today!

As we have all been away from each other for so long, we spent some extended time thinking about and talking about crew. After lots of reflections about how we are going to ‘come back stronger’ we launched in to our crew challenge!

The whole crew had to stand on the tarp and flip it completely over without touching the floor! Throughout the challenge, we got better at being crew and involving each other and we are going to try this challenge tomorrow to see if you can do it even more efficiently!

Welcome Back!

I can’t wait to welcome Crew Knowles back on Monday! I have missed you all so much and can’t wait to see your smiling faces filling our classroom again.

Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to our online learning over the past couple of months – you have done yourselves proud!

I will see you all very soon!

The Masked Reader!!

The Masked Reader is finally here!

Can you guess which teacher is hiding under each mask?

Submit your answers below – good luck!

Throughout March, as a school we are planning to walk from John o Groats to Lands end and back! That’s 1,748 miles!

If my calculations are correct as a school we only need to do 110,505 steps a day! Easy!

So charge up your fit bits and smart watches and get your walking shoes ready!

At the end of the week complete the google form that I have attached to this blog and we will record your steps. There will be weekly prizes in school for most steps in a week and all school staff will be getting involved too.

Good luck and I hope you enjoy the challenge
