This year’s National Poetry Day theme is refuge so we spent our crew session looking at what refuge means as well as at different examples of poetry. We then had a go at creating our own acrostic poems to reflect on what refuge means to us!
We also enjoyed listening to this little funny poem we found!
This afternoon, all of the teachers across school swapped classes to share a story! Class 11 loved it when Miss Rodgers came to visit! It sounds like they had great fun reading ‘The Great Dog Bottom Swap’!!
Class 11 did a great job creating anchor charts to remind us how to round! I have been so impressed with everyone’s enthusiasm and skill when it has come to rounding to the nearest 10, 100 and 1,000!
From Monday 2nd October – Friday 6th October we will be holding a reading week to celebrate all things reading! We are also trying to raise money to purchase a reading vending machine!
There are lots of different things going off all week but here are some of the important ones:
Book Sale
There will be a book sale happening every day in school and all books will be 50p!
Crack the code
Every day during the week, we will have a safe full of goodies and you can have a go at cracking the code for just 50p! You can have as many goes as you like!
Reading drop in session
On Thursday 5th October, the Learning Council will be hosting a reading drop in session in the hall suitable for all children and parents. Please pop along to join in the different activities! This will take place between 3 and 4pm.
