Well done to all of our HoWLs point winners and Crew Champions this week. It sounds as though you have had a fantastic first few weeks back!
Crew Knowles: Roman Timeline
Today we started our work looking at the timeline of the Romans. We had to work with BC and AD dates which is a really tricky concept! We started by ordering the dates in the correct order and we will add information to them later.
Crew Knowles: Home Learning
Well done to Kaila and Georgia who have produced some lovely home learning! Kaila completed addition and subtraction sums in Roman numerals and Georgia spent time looking at the Roman gods and coming up with a Roman banquet! Well done girls!
Y4: Soldiers Assemble!
This afternoon, we were able to try out our helmets, shields and swords by having a mini battle! We tried out the ‘tortoise’ formation and used the shields to try and protect everyone!
Y4 finish their shields!
Crew Knowles: Family Learning
We’ve had a lovely afternoon creating swords and helmets ready for our Roman battle! Thank you to all the parents that braved the heat and managed not to melt! I was so impressed with everyone’s creativity and resilience because it was a tricky task making the swords! More pictures to follow!
Crew Knowles: Shield Making
We have started to prepare our shields ready for battle! The first step was to paint them a brilliant red! Tomorrow we will decorate them so watch out for the finished product!
Crew Knowles: What makes us special?
In crew this morning, we looked at what makes us unique. We drew around each other in chalk and filled in the bodies with all of the things that make us special!
Crew Knowles: Marvellous Mosaics!
Class 11 have been working super hard to create Roman style mosaics that include their initial. They are going to look so colourful on display!
More reading for Crew Knowles!
Crew Knowles have loved the fact it has been National Read a Book Day today and we have read lots of stories! A special thank you to our Bodhi (one of our learning councillors) who visited us this afternoon to read a story! George also wanted to read a story to our crew and we can’t wait for him to finish it tomorrow!
