Class 10 – scrap tornado poems (as promised)

Here are class 10s completed scrap tornadoes with their poems included and backed on display! They really do look amazing, great job again guys!!

My favorite words and phrases from these are ‘winding winds’, ‘dashing’, ‘gusting’, ‘overpowered’, ‘column of air’, and ‘Devastating destruction’. Some amazing description, yet so simple! ☺️🌪️

National Skipping Week

This week is National Skipping week and as a school we will be taking part to see how many jumps we can do. Each day, the children will get the opportunity to take part and count how many jumps they can do and we will create a school total each day. Watch this video to find out more.

Want to take part at home?

School council will be getting involved to see who can skip or jump in the most unusual places. All you need to do to get involved is take a picture or video of you jumping or skipping somewhere unusual and send it into school. The deadline for entries is Tuesday 2nd May. Winners will be announced on Friday 5th May.

Happy skipping!

Class 10 – scrap tornado poems 🌪️

I was amazed at how well the children worked on these to create their scrap tornadoes in pairs. At first, I thought I’d maybe bitten off more than I could chew on a Friday afternoon but they absolutely smashed it! These scrap tornadoes are made from literally scrap pieces of paper from our scrap paper drawer and some old leaflets and a newspaper I had at home. Layering up strips of dark colours that they could find in the shape of a tornado. We then had a discussion about a range of adjectives we could use to describe a tornado and they used these words to create a short and simple poem within their art work! Here are some snaps of them working away! I’m just upset I forgot to take pictures of their final ones to show them off, but stayed tuned they will definitely be making an appearance next week!

Class 10 – rivers and canals 🏞️

The children have worked so well on locating rivers within the UK! They started by looking at a map of thier local area and identifying rivers and canals as waterways. They then were able to use search technologies and other maps to identify other rivers within the UK and place them on their own blank maps! Awesome job guys as per usual!

Class 10 Soil posters!

Class 10 have worked so hard researching the different layers of soil and making posters about their findings. We used ipads and our knowledge to write down facts about each layer and we illustrated what this would look like. Great group work everyone!

Sport photos! ⚽️🏉

Mr Ambler and myself are creating a PE display for school. In this display, we want to celebrate our sporting successes across school whether it is a tournament, PE clubs or outside teams.

Please pass them onto your teacher and we will add these as part of our celebration 😀

Thanks,

Mr Gerrard and Mr Ambler 😆

Class 10 first day back!
