Crew Knowles are working hard in Magic Maths each day to develop their arithmetic fluency. The children have persevered with simplifying fractions, adding and subtracting fractions, and lots of tricky multiplications! Alexsis also did a great job of supporting the Gold Standard group! Kindness in Crew Myers
Theo and Jake are our learning legends today as everyone has noticed just how kind they are. Both boys go out of their way everyday to help others and be the very best versions of themselves and we are super proud to have them in our crew! Well done boys!
Finding Fractions of Amounts
In class 10, we have been using counters to help us found unit fractions of amount.
Collaborative maths in Crew Ambler
Yesterday in maths we learnt how to multiply and divide decimals by 10,100 and 1000. Each group then worked together to complete a tarsia jigsaw linked to multiplying and dividing decimals. Well done Crew Ambler I was very impressed with your collaboration skills!
Expedition Crew Challenge!
The nursery children were given the simple challenge of ‘what can you make?’ Each group had no more than two materials and they had to work collaboratively to create their idea! Here are some of our best bits! We made a house, rocket and tower!
Polar bear collaboration
Class 6 spent part of their morning researching a member of the mammal family of animals, the polar bear. They worked in groups to read and gather fact from a text and write what they had learned.
The children showed great skills in their collaborative reading task and we found out lots of things we didn’t know before. Did you know polar bears have black skin under all that fur?
Also a massive well done to Emelia who won our learning legend postcard today for her outstanding effort in all her learning. Keep it up Emelia.
