Year 2 writing HOWLs
Class 8 wrote a fantastic final touchdown write today. They have created several drafts over the last 3 weeks, critiqued it, added features and researched more information to include. I am so proud of the final product and with how hard they have worked to improve and achieve their ME target.

Year 2 mathematics shape hunt
We have been using the correct mathematical names for 3d shapes and have learnt the properties of them today.
The lesson began with a hunt for 3d objects within the classroom…it was great to see them so focused on finding an object and listening to their discussions about how they knew they were 3 dimensional!

Fantastic extra curricular activities
My little scientist
Look at the proud face on Thea as she won our learning legend postcard today for demonstrating just how much she has learned about animal groups, food chains and habitats. She was able to share her new-found knowledge with our crew and spoke knowledgeably about the effect humans have on the environment and how this impacts on the lives of the animals she has studied. So proud of you angel! X
National Story Telling Week! 📚
A huge thank you to Riley-James for bringing in a book to share In Crew today to start our story telling week.
We all really enjoyed listening to a fun story and it definitely brought huge smiles to our faces!
Once upon a time…📚
Today was the start of National Storytelling Week and we celebrated this by having some very special visitors to nursery. Jaiden, Tilly, Ava, Freya and Sophia from the Green Top Learning Council came and read stories to the children. It was so lovely to see the children listening so intently to their mini teachers!
Also a big shout out to Annie, Isabella, Isla and Izaak who brought in their favourite stories from home to share and also Holly and Logan who were today’s postcard winners! What a great start to the week… I wonder what we will read tomorrow?
National Storytelling Week
National Storytelling week has got off to a lovely start with our Year 5/6 Learning Council members sharing some stories with our reception and nursery crews!
Don’t forget to fetch in your favourite stories and to watch out for the Learning Council members in your crew!
A new code has been set…who will crack it this time?
For all our KS2 children, the safe has new prizes inside and the code has been set. This time there is a card which invites you to choose a brand new book from my collection, as well as claim the treats in the safe.
I can’t wait to see who will be our next winner!
We are biologists!
This afternoon, in Crew Jackson we began our case study 2 on the biology of animals. Today we focused on animal classification. Everyone was full of enthusiasm for sharing their prior knowledge and then after research we shared further knowledge we had gained. The children were very proud of the anchor charts they created.
