Last week the children were given World Book Day token. These tokens can be exchanged for given £1 books or in some places put towards paying for other books.
World Book Day retailers include Waterstones, Sainsburys, Tesco and WHSmiths in Doncaster, Scunthorpe and Goole.
Make sure you take your voucher and exchange it for a book!
The Accelerated Reader safe is still locked and there is a chocolate bunny in there waiting to be eaten!
Can you score 100% three times in a row when quizzing and come and try to crack the code?
Many children have tried but no one has yet succeeded at freeing the chocolate bunny!
Every few days I will add a new clue to help us crack the code.
Clue number 1 … 1 digit is even and 2 digits are odd.
This week in reception the children have been thinking about what 3D shapes are the best to use for building and why. There has been lots of talk about the properties and similarities and differences of real life objects. Here are some of our special moments so far..
Levi and Freddie have blown me away this week working hard using their knowledge of 3D shapes to build. I have been so impressed with both boys confidence in reading in our phonics lessons too. I couldn’t be more proud!
We had a great time celebrating pancake day yesterday. We read a story called ‘Mr Wolfs Pancakes’ which had a funny ending. We then did a fun pancake dance and tasted pancakes. We enjoyed discussing our favourite pancake toppings and designing our own pancakes!
Postcard winners today were Sidney, Poppy and Kuba! Well done for working hard, being kind and getting smart!
A huge well done to Ezra who won our learning legend award today for his outstanding maths work. He re-called his learning to solve number bond to 10 problems and then used this and his place value knowledge to successfully calculate the number bonds to 20. Impressive job smasher.
This morning the nursery children learned all about Pancake Day. They listened to the story of Mr Wolf’s Pancakes and discussed what ingredients you need you make the batter. Mrs Woolridge then made lots and lots of pancakes for the children to enjoy out in the sunshine! Their favourite topping was chocolate sauce! 😋 We also enjoyed creating pancake faces in a cutting and sticking activity.
We also completed an experiment with ice cubes to see how the melting ice caps in the Arctic could affect habitats and settlements.
what a great lesson crew x
