What a fabulous and busy day we had yesterday – I’m amazed we fit it all into one school day!
To begin with, we worked with Geoff from XP to film our final product. Everyone came to life on the camera, I can’t wait to see how fab the videos look!
Then, as part of our Fitness video, we had a Zumba class with Mrs Rayner, which everyone got really stuck into and enjoyed. After that, the children got changed into their Egyptian costumes and we finished our video with us dancing like Egyptians!
We even managed to link our science learning of the heart and dissect some pigs hearts! I was absolutely blown away by everyones courage handling the hearts but also hearing the use of correct terminology that we had learnt. The children were even able to identify the different components of the heart and discuss what the role of the part is. AMAZING!
What a fantastic day filled with lots of amazing learning opportunities!
Tomorrow, Year 5 will be filming their final videos for their Expedition product.
Children are welcome to come to school wearing their appropriate school PE kit.
If children still have their Egyptian outfit / costume from the dress up day please could these also be brought to school to change into during filming.
Last week, Class 10 were working hard on part of their final product. Our designs are looking great and we hope that the the local community appreciate them too!
Parents and carers are warmly welcome to our annual KS2 Sports Day 2024. Join us on the 2nd of July at 9am, we need YOU there to cheer on our future Olympians.
This event will take place on the KS2 field. Please enter via the gates at the top playground and make your way down to the school field where you will find chairs along the race track.
Mrs Fitzpatrick will be on hand, serving snacks and refreshments throughout the morning too!
Plover School is excited to join the “Walk and Wheel Challenge” by the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority. This fun initiative gets kids walking, cycling, and wheeling to school, making travel safer and healthier.
But that’s not all! The students are also tackling a big issue – problematic parking around the school. They’ve made a video asking everyone to park considerately so driveways aren’t blocked and crossing the road stays safe.
Spread the word, watch their video, and look out for their signs around the area to support their efforts.
A Message from C29
‘This week, our school hosted the Conversation Club, shedding light on the challenges faced by refugees and asylum seekers. One major expense is transportation, but we realised that having a bike could eliminate this cost and provide free, reliable transport.
In response, we are organising a bike drive, inviting the community to donate any old bikes, which will be invaluable to those in need. You can drop off your bike donations at XP Doncaster, and we will ensure they are distributed by the Conversation Club to refugees and asylum seekers, helping to ease their daily struggles. Your support and generosity are greatly appreciated.’
If you have any shoeboxes, please donate them to EYFS in preparation for our expedition after the Summer holidays. Please bring them to any of the EYFS teachers.
