Today the children had a lovely morning making catapults as part of their Roman expedition, they all worked collaboratively together and then went outside into the sunshine to try them. Well done everyone!!! 😊

Yesterday, we enjoyed getting out and visiting our local woods to make links to life in the rain forest! We enjoyed lots of sunshine and seeing some of the previous Expedition products!
Firstly, I would like to say a massive thank you to adults for coming out in this heat and getting stuck right into the Roman sword making. I am sure the children really appreciate it as well.
We had a lot of fun making the weaponry and we will put it to good use in our battle tomorrow!
Class 10 had a unique Crew this morning, where they drew around a friends body outside and said what they thought made them special! They were lovely to see.
Yesterday, we was so lucky to welcome Clio, from the learning council, into our Crew to read us a book. She chose a book about Sir Elton John and the children were surprised to find out interesting facts about his life and success. Thank you Clio, we all really enjoyed it! 🌟
Class 8 have created this fantastic piece of artwork today that I think looks amazing in my classroom! They have worked together to draw their own section of the picture of Martin Luther King Jnr. There was beautiful colouring by everyone today too…well done!

Thank you to everyone who came to our family learning this afternoon. The children had a brilliant time creating their Roman swords!
Today we began preparing our Roman shields! We gave them a first coat of paint ready for decorating tomorrow!
In maths today, the children have been recapping place value. We played a place value game where children had to play against each other to create the largest and smallest numbers!
We’ve had a lovely afternoon creating swords and helmets ready for our Roman battle! Thank you to all the parents that braved the heat and managed not to melt! I was so impressed with everyone’s creativity and resilience because it was a tricky task making the swords! More pictures to follow!
