It looks like Year 3/4 had great fun at the arts and crafts group during Funky Friday Time! I can’t wait to see what they get up to next time!

I was so impressed with Class 11 and their motivation when learning how to round to the nearest 10!
We loved the rounding song and found it so useful to keep singing it to help us round numbers! Check out the rhyme below!
I am so proud of Georgia who is achieving great things outside of school! First she has achieved Star of the Week at her new dance school and is making lots of new friends. Second, Georgia and lots of the other girls in Y4 won their 2nd league game this weekend showing great progress and teamwork!
Both Georgia and Poppy scored goals and Georgia was awarded Manager’s Player whilst Poppy was voted Parent’s Player of the match.
Well done!

Well done Leila for taking immense time and effort to produce a beautiful piece of home learning which links to our Expedition!
Class 11 have had a fantastic day today as we were lucky enough to have Clare come into school to lead a Roman workshop for us. They managed to complete a wide-range of Roman-related activities throughout the day and had lots of fun doing so!
They began the day with introductions and greetings in Latin and then used wax tablets to practise their Roman numerals and letters. They even completed a shopping list!
They then learnt what it would be like to be a part of the Roman army with Hollie definitely making a fantastic soldier! They practised their marching skills and even practised forming a testudo!
After lunch, Class 11 enjoyed learning more about aqueducts and enjoyed creating their own. They also produced more colourful mosaics with some great patterns! Finally, they enjoyed playing some Roman games including one called Knucklebones!
What a busy and fantastic day! They’ve learnt so much that will really support in our upcoming expedition learning!
In expedition, we have been looking at the structure of a Roman road and why they were so important during the expansion of the Roman Empire! We used chocolate and biscuits to create a cross-section of a Roman Road, although I think the children enjoyed eating it more!
Take a look at some of the beautiful handwriting and presentation in books during our Roman road write up!
Yesterday, Grace won our learning postcard for being kind! Grace is a great role model and demonstrates how to be kind fabulously! When reading out the postcard, everyone in our crew predicted it was for Grace which just shows how well respected she is in our crew! we’re so lucky to have you! 🌟
What a day it has been in Year 4 today! We were lucky enough to have Clare come into school to lead a Roman workshop for us. We managed to complete a wide-range of Roman-related different activities throughout the day.
We began the day with introductions and greetings in Latin. Once we had done this, we learnt what it would be like to be a part of the Roman army with Reuben making a great soldier! We then put our skills to good use during marching practise with Natalia doing a great job of leading the group! Take a look at our testudo!
Next, we practised writing Roman numerals and letters using the wax tablets. This was a method of writing that allowed the Romans to reuse the same equipment (a little bit like our whiteboards!)
We finished before dinner with a game of Merels. This was a two player game from the Roman times, very similar to noughts and crosses, which the children loved!
After lunch, we were introduced to Roman arches and aqueducts. We were able to build our own and could see the amazing physics behind the construction of an arch. Finally, we finished off with Roman mosaics to create some interesting patterns!
Here are some of the finished mosaics!
