Some of the children in Class 11 tried to crack the safe code today to get the treats!
It hasn’t been opened yet – better luck tomorrow! If you crack the code, you also get a brand new book prize! Remember it is 50p a go all week!

Today Class 11 enjoyed a visit to Thorne Library to celebrate National Libraries Week as part of our Reading Week!
We really enjoyed using the space and reading some of the lovely books on offer!
We had a very exciting start to reading week today when we logged into a podcast of a real live author discussing and reading his book. James Catchpole told us all about his latest book – You’re So Amazing – about a boy called Joe who has one leg. James – who has one leg himself – then showed off his amazing football skills. We were all super impressed!
We are so looking forward to the rest of the week and immersing ourselves in reading!
Don’t forget that we are holding a book sale all week with books only 50p!
Well done to our most recent postcard winners for showing great attitudes towards their learning and completing lots of beautiful work across English and Expedition!
I am so impressed with the children’s attitude towards their home learning. Not only are they practising their reading and Numbots but we have also had some beautiful home learning. Thank you so much to everyone who has sent in beautiful homework. We are really enjoying sharing our homework in our crew sessions and the children have been adding their HoWL point to our class charts. I wonder who will be this week HoWL point winner?
Here is a selection of just some of the homework we have celebrated:
Today the children have been making box model Tudor Houses. I was so impressed with their independence and skills. Thank you to Mrs Green and Mrs Hardman who also helped the children today. What amazing models they are! We still have some finishing off to do on some of the models but the children have done a great job. Well Done Class 5!
I am so proud of how the children are challenging their own learning at home as well as at school. Many of the children in Class 5 have logged into Numbots and passed levels though playing the games. On Friday we had our first Numbots certificate presentation. Look how many certificates have been earned in the first few weeks! Keep it up Class 5!
This week in our half an hour slot we’ve made some peg animals! Inspired by my friend ‘peggy’ the giraffe 🦒 😄
Don’t forget that all this week (Monday 2nd October – Friday 6th October) we are celebrating reading! We will have a daily book sale where you can purchase books for just 50p per book and you can buy as many as you like.
We will also have a safe full of goodies and you can try and crack the 3 digit code for just 50p ago! Again, you can have as many turns as you like!
Any money that we raise will go towards our goal of purchasing a reading vending machine!
In maths this week, the children have been learning about Roman numerals. We used lollipop sticks to create the Roman numerals and write out our date of birth.
