Today in maths, the children loved their practical lesson using lots of different resources to show numbers up to and beyond 20 in different ways. Well done everyone on a fab & fun session!
Today’s Learning Legend appreciation goes out to not one but 3 children… Well done to Bobby who has worked super hard on his learning in class today, as well as being kind and helping his friend too. Congratulations to Poppy who wowed us with her fantastic home learning that shows she has been working hard on both her number formation and sentence writing. And, last but not least, high five to Harry who blew Miss O’Neil away with his amazing effort in phonics. Great job guys, keep up the hard work!
Last week we explored the sounds s, a and t. Look at our super learning!
This week we will be focusing on the sounds p, i and n.
Every week we will set a phonics activity on the online classroom that you could try at home. Please check in the ‘classwork’ section for last week’s homework.
A MASSIVE well done to Thomas for being todays Bucket Filler. Thomas was given the award for being kind to other children and for inviting them to join him in his play.
What a star! 🌟
Today’s learning legend is Annabel who demonstrated great teamwork in our collaborative transport sorting activity today. Well done!
Well done to our learning legend, Harry who channelled Have-A-Go Henry during his writing blastoff this afternoon. He thought carefully about his phonics to write not one but two fantastic sentences – well done, Harry!

In English this week, Y1 are looking at the wordless picture book, Journey which tells the story of a girl overcoming various obstacles on an adventure by drawing different types of transport with her magic crayon. We all enjoyed the story before setting off on our own mini adventure and working collaboratively to design vehicles with our very own magic pens!
Today we have started our blast off into our new expedition, asking the question: how have the changes in transport made our journeys safer?
Well done to Teddy who was our learning legend today. He has been making some really smart decisions about where to sit in the classroom so that he can produce his best work – great job!
We had such a lovely first day in Reception today. The children were amazing and enjoyed exploring their new classrooms and outdoor area. We can’t wait for everyone to come and play again tomorrow!
